    Default In-Depth with Gens

CA announced that generals and characters will be even more immersible than ever before, this is a big part of the game play to me personally, along with a good variety of units, else it tends to get boring fast. I want to feel like my generals have a huge impact on the game play in multiple different ways of my choosing. Not exactly sure what that should pertain, but have at it if anyone else does.

Another thing, and this was in an earlier thread, maybe having more than one ability that any one general could obtain. I only saw this in medieval 2 crusader expansion, each leader of the six or so factions had a unique ability (other than Rally) that made it different in each battle, some maybe a little overpowering but a variety would be nice.

There was a couple other things i was thinking but will not type, mainly want to see if anyone else has something they would like to see added.

I liked the special abilities introduced in Crusader Expansion. But the Turks, Nur-addin i believe, had a pretty OP ability. But that ability made me appreciate that general more than others. He was something special. If re-introduced, the abilities should be hard to get and not being too decisive. The abilities should, imo, be gained depending on what history the general has gone through, and not just you picking that ability because it's the best one.

A general who's won like 3 heroic victories could get an ability which raises the overall morale of the army and rallies routed units. A general who's won 3 close victories would instead get a 'fight to the death'-ability or something.

I was personally thinking that if we could have more choice how our Gens and admirals were raised than it would add a lot of life to these gens and admirals. For ex. you could allow a boy that is about to come of age, training in certain area of your choice. At this age you could have the option of starting training (age 8-10 maybe) in particular areas. These areas could include (but not limited too) naval training, cavalry training, infantry training, diplomatic training, management training, or anything else. Good ideas though, this is a good discussion.
