FOTS crashtastic and weird map glitch.
I finally got Shogun 2 running, and decided it was time to get FOTS. So far I really like it, but damn. It crashes every 10 or 12 turns, and Japan flooded I guess. My campaign map has been turning to solid water. I haven't had that problem with Shogun 2, only with FOTS. I know my vid card is a bit behind, ATI HD 4850, and I'm thinking of upgrading to a 6790 I think it is. Does anybody else have these problems?

When was the last time you updated the graphics drivers? 4850 and 6750 would be about the same footing.

I've got the most recent drivers. There's really not that much of a difference between the 4850 and 6750? My 4850 is 512mb and the 6790 I'm looking at is 1 gb.

That would be about the only difference. 6750 will use lees power.
I have tried Shogun2 with a 512mb card and not good but playable since I could care less about how the graphics look. CA won't say it but Shogun2 and the expansions really need a 1gb card or better.

I don't think I can get about 1 gig. From what I've seen that's going to be the limit on what my mother board can handle. I know I need more RAM, but I'm maxed out at 4. Might have to upgrade to Win 7 or a 64 bit version of XP.

Your wierd map glitch could also be related to heat.
MSI Afterburner can tell you how hot it's getting. You can also manually control the card's fan with it.
