    Default Crashing during long battles

For some reason unknown to me my Shogun 2 will crash during long battles (battles that last 40 mins or more) It happens in FOTS and normal Shogun 2 (havent played ROTS yet). I have no idea what could be the cause but its very frustrating to get so far in a battle only to have it practically crash at the last minute. I have noticed when I zoom in on the action then is when it will crash. When it crashes it simply freezes without any error msg telling me why. I then have to crt alt delete to get out of it. I have verified the cache and that does not seem to do anything...Any suggestions? Here is my Dxdiag if it helps. The rest of the game runs fine and short battles are never really an issue at all either. But its when I take my time, such as in a siege defending or attacking that it will crash after the 40 minute mark should I ever zoom into the action...

Yes, you can if you love running stuff in the background and/or do a lot of multitasking in windowed mode.
This game is built on XP with a 4gb ceiling including graphics ram. Unless you have a way to dump the other stuff onto the other 12gb, you will run out of memory fast.

But when I click on the system button it says I have Windows Vista 64 bit(Or I am mistaking that for something else? The highest color bit I can go to is 32bit in the nvidia control panel. Is that what you're talking about? Excuse my noobness in this matter)...And 8 GB of ram isn't enough for Shogun 2 in long battles? Thank you for the 3 steps though, I will look into them and what not.

It would be nice if the dxdiag says it's 64bit. Micro$oft strikes again.
Either way, you've hit that XP 32bit ceiling only CA as the developer has control over. This includes the graphics ram. Anything else, find a way to load it into the other 4gb or shut it down while playing.
Game optimization still leaves a lot to be desired in this, too.

I downloaded and I am now using "Razer Game Booster" (I trust this is the best game booster out there?) and so far it seems this is the trick to getting it to work a lot better...It also improved many other games such as Skyrim and Medieval 2 Total War for me. Thanks again!
