Default How do you think the Soundtrack will be in Rome II?

Like the title says; how do you think the soundtrack will be in Rome II?

Any special hopes, ideas or even related tracks you think would fit the upcoming game?

    Personally, I'm quite excited.
I always figured that for the Romans, they would have a very mighty melody or tune to demonstrate the power of Rome and give a feeling of its sheer, monumental weight. And something more exotic the further down into the east you went.

Not sure what soundtrack would fit the barbarian factions though.
"He who wishes to be the best for his people, must do that which is necessary - and be willing to go to hell for it."

Let the Preservation, Advancement and Evolution of Mankind be our Greater Good.

And NO, my avatar is the coat of arms from the Teutonic Knightly Order because they're awesome.

We won't know till we play it. But I think It won't be better than FoTS soundtrack.

From the tiny bits we have heard, it does sound promising, although uninspired at certain parts. If it will be even as good as FotS soundtrack, it will be awesome.

They had a preview of some of it in one of the videos they have posted up, if I remember correctly.

Yep, watch it at the end of Rally Point: Episode 10.

It starts about 2 minutes in, but I cannot figure out how to link to a specific time in the video with the player...

I'm hoping for a disco based OST with lacings of funk.

A bit of of RnB, the odd tune of Pop and ... oh wait it's Rome 2 not GTA 5. What do you expect?

The new soundtrack would have a lot to live up to considering the masterpiece that was the original main theme, I don't think it could be beaten.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAlMaVYIzqw If the new one is not as good than maybe this can be modded in.The nostalgia I get from listening to that.
Remember, remember, the third of september, the Rome II treason and plot. I know of no reason why pre-order treason should ever be forgot.

It would be awesome if they included some of Rome 1's soundtrack in Rome 2 along with the new music.

Jeff Van Dyke literally created a masterpiece in Rome 1's first soundtrack. His absence in Rome 2 is a huge negative. Hoping for the best but I can't see it coming close to JVD's.

The game is the masterpiece, now the tracks i've heard so far in Rome II footage is FAR beyond what Van Dyke has procuced for Rome 1... This is nostalgia that speaks for you here.

I always found this track, alike with some others from Van Dyke, quite irrelevant to the era or the theme: I can close my eyes for ages listening that sound it still not speaking about Rome or Antiquity for me...

Just like the main 'campaign soundtrack' of Rome 1, with this piano weird thing and that chick singing somewhat latin with a darn british accent always drove me crazy. It was boring as well.

What i've heard from Rome II music so far is far better. The music is more professional and 'mature' IMO than Van Dyke's stuff (a bit synthetic with candide lyrics...).

Ok let's go, flame me now you all Van Dyke's fan it totally worth it xD

I am not going to rise to a trolling as easy as that!

Everyone is is entitled to their own opinion.

Whereas I find the Rome I tracks almost iconic in their attachment to the game, those I have heard for Rome 2 other than the initial trailer are unfortunately instantly forgettable.

you haven't heard the main title music so far. We can't say anything about that.

What exactly have you heard of Rome II's music. The live action trailer, we don't even know if that song will be in-game. And it ripped off a few of the soundtracks of Rome I, specially in the end when it ripped the menu theme.

The audio quality on both Teutoburg and Carthage gameplay trailers, is not good enough to actually hear the music properly *specially when the guy is talking every two seconds, and most you hear is soldiers yelling.*

The 2 trailers, have just music in the last 10-15 seconds of the video. And they are extremely short trailers.

And then a really bland song that Rally Point gave us like 4 months ago.

Yeah, we have heard so much music >.>....

Rome 1's musical score was universally praised by fans and critics alike. You could pick apart the AI, graphics, gameplay etc but the music was a work of art. I would load up the game and listen to the opening theme for a half hour. The song on the campaign map with the woman singing was fantastic, and the fast paced battle music really set the mood. I cannot fathom why Van Dyke wouldn't be given the helm for Rome 2's music. After the last rally point (terrible) I won't be preordering until some reviews come in. CA wants me to spend probably around 100$ or more on R2 plus expansions, (plus a new comp) and we can't even see a non scripted battle so we know the AI isn't brain dead like in empire? How about we put away the toys and cards, up the maturity level a bit and have a serious look at the game? I'd say most TW players are in their 20's and 30's, so why the nonsense? Well sorry for the off topic rant. In closing, BRING BACK JVD!!!

From what I've heard so far, it sounds pretty good. The horns in the Teutoberg walkthrough were epic and the Carthage soundtrack was very atmospheric.
The rally point for Pontus featured some very good music that starts around 2:15(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB9stwC2wBA) and the Greek Culture trailer had equally epic music. Not sure if it's game music though.
