Default Where will everyone first attack?

Seeing as everyone on this forum is complaining about colors and armor lately, I am curious as to what faction and where you guys will first attack during your first 15-20 turns or so. We dont have any details about the campaign yet regarding diplomacy and who's allied or at war (if any at the start), so lets assume its like old RTW and everyone is at peace in the beginning.

I plan on playing Rome as my first campaign and heading north and eventually secure Italy as a whole under the Roman banner. Then on to sack Carthage (at some point). Will some of you hold out for peace for the first 20 turns? Or invade the British Isles?
Without mercy. Without compassion. Without remorse.
    All war depends upon it.

Always on the left flank. They never expect you coming on the left flank!

I usually just go wherever really. I plan on playing Sparta first so I guess I can attack Athens, and move up through Greece and then through Macedon. If I don't expand into the Balkans I guess I would go into Anatolia and expand east.

When playing as Rome, I have one rule: CARTHAGE MUST BE DESTROYED!

Otherwise, I'm generally an opportunist, I look for weakness in my enemies and try to expand to natural frontiers, then build a strong defense to sally out from.
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

For me I will play as Rome and eventually like you I will conquer Carthage but I want them to grow as big as they can so it adds to it's epicness.
The first thing I will do is to secure all of the italian peninsula and establish my settlements so just in case while im off campaigning somewhere else I'm not ambushed by a naval invasion.
The next order of business will be to move further north just enough so I can establish a line of defense to keep anything North out of my territory.
This will probably end my 10th turn hopefully and I've been thinking about it alot and instead of venturing further north I feel my first ambitious campaign will be to the Iberian Peninsula.
So I will spend a few turns raising about 5 or 6 Legions and conducting a massive 5 or 6 pronged assault on the Tribes/Nations in Iberia seeing as many will be united as allies by then I will split my forces and dispatch each tribe/nation with 1 of the legions each so they cant join forces.
After dominating the Iberian Peninsula instead of the just advancing north or south I'm going to strengthen my new lands and italian lands before moving North to destroy the Northern Barbarian tribes and nations.

As Macedon I will first try to stabilize relations with the other Greeks, then I will try to capture as much of Thracia as possible before conquering the rest of Greece.

I think like always I will first conquer 2-3 nearby rebel cities. Afterwards I normally take some turns for building, making some money etc. Then I have a look which (nearby) faction is the weakest or in war with other (in best case my allies).
Maybe starting as Rome, going northwest for parts of Gaul and Hispania.

I am almost certain that you won't. If I start as Rome, I will first gain control over Italy by kicking the Greeks out of Syracus and the Carthagenians out of Lilybaeum, along with capturing Gallia Cisalpinia and Magna Graecia. If I start as Suebi, I'll take over Scandinavia and build up, before I unleash an attack in Gallia.

As Arverni, unite the gallic tribes, fortify the southwestern (Alps), southeastern (Pyrenneans) and eastern borders (Rhine), then go for Britannia.

As Egypt, expand south and west in Africa until I meet Carthage, then try to ally with them to secure this border. Then go against the Seleucids to begin reclaiming Alexander's Empire.

As Rome, secure Italy, including Sicily and Cisalpina Gaul, again using the Alps as a defensive border against the barbarians, then go for either Greece or North Africa (Carthage), depending on the situation. In any case I'll try to focus on the mediterranean before going north, just like history.

i will play as Egypt and the first thing i will do is to increase my wealth through trade, then i will create a standing army and strengthen my borders with a series of fortifications which will keep our flanks safe for the next step

my next step will be to try to conquer a western region in north Africa i plan to make it worthless by destroying the buildings and then hand it over to the Seleucid empire so that i may better my relations with them. safeguards will be kept in place so that they don't use that region to box us in

after that the real battle begins, my navy will be made stronger so as to take control of the mediterranean, and then i will expand into Arabia, since that is my homeland

i will conquer the peninsula, establish more trade and then rest and recuperate the armies for a couple of years

after that when i am a little richer and more powerful, i will make alliances with Pontus and Parthia in a bid to destroy the Seleucids once and for all !!!

and after that CA will release the Seleucids as DLC and then i will start a new campaign with them and try to conquer Egypt instead
If you work to earn a living, why then do you work yourself to death?

If the game is historically accurate in the balance of the factions, you'll have lots of pain to invade africa early because of the difference of quality between your navy and the carthaginian one, remember they are the proud descendants of the phoenicians and great sailors.
From a historical point of view, it'll be easier to intervene in greek and iberian local troubles, to affirm your position in Italy as well as ensuring strong allies (greek city states against each other, against macedonia, iberians against carthage, gauls against germanic tribes ...) and expand toward Sicily.
After that only, and with great challenge, you can engage your whole diplomatic apparel and your economy against Carthage. Invest a lot in R&D for your navy and your land troops and you'll be able to contend their powerful economy supporting their hordes of mercenaries. Keep a good internal climate, the challenge should help you in that.

Personally I'll rather play Carthage and try the tactics of Hamilcar and Hannibal, keeping the Romans away with my navies (and hopefully avoid as much as possible being "corvused") and expand to Iberia while helping my epirots and/or gallic allies to prevent Rome from gathering a fleet strong enough to attack me.

Cross the alps, besiege Rome (without engaging nor camping in Capua)

    In a word, lore-playing with Carthage ^^

As Carthage I would first conquer North Africa and then strengthen my naval dominance with Syracuse, Corsica and the Balearic Isles. Then I would send my armies to Iberia and have my fleets blockade Rome. When my armies are done I'll send them to Rome.

    Glory to Carthage!

I'd be interested to see how you'd do that first.
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.

if its like shogun where thye have you starting off fighting a minor factions army near you or a rebel army, then ide go with that. But if not, I'm probably playing as rome first to test it out, I will fight the gauls and recreate the battle (much earlier period though) in the beginning of gladiator!
