    Default Thank-you guys.

Played TATW a few times before, but I usually play Gondor or Rohan - they suit my playing style; a strong defensive infantry with flexible cavalry support.

Anyway, at about 11am today I decided I'd give the Dwarves a go. It's now 03.26 in the morning and I have just finished for now. About 2 hours ago, a stack and a half of battle hardened and tested dwarves wrested command of Khazad-Dum from the occupying Orcs (a whole stack, including three or four units of Trolls. (and Balrogs, obviously.) Despite the camera being difficult, my slow, careful advance across the bridge was followed by 2 hours of backwards-forward bottlenecking, followed by some of the most intense game-changing moments ever. (at one point my dwarves started to rout and were pushed back through the door. Reinforcements had to force their way back in.)

The battle of Khazad-Dum is without a doubt one of the most exhilarating battles I have ever fought. I'd urge everyone to give this mod a go - and to play outside your tactical comfort zones while you do so. It'l be an experience.

I just wanted to thank you guys for an awesome adaptation and a fantastic waste of day
    -DS.

sounds awesome, I'll have to try the dwarves for my next campaign. do you use any mods, also what difficulties do you play on?
It's not a question of where it grips it. It's a simple questions of weight ratios; a five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

Played without mods - going to give the submods a go on my next playthrough. (I'm thinking of trying Isengard.) and it was on very hard difficulty for both campaign and battles.

(This afternoon the Orcs attempted to retake Khazad Dum, but I managed to bottleneck them at the bridge with pikemen, crossbowmen firing from the sides.)

You should try Dwarves. Their lack of cavalry and archery makes for a challenge, you have to rely on careful infantry manoeuvring and strong defensive lines.

Haha, I think we have all been there.

Anyway, cool story. I've had some good battles on Khazad-Dum as well.

Bwahhahaha, indeed we have . Had to show up in this one thread myself as well to say thanks to the wonderful creators of this mods, so thanks . I've been having such a great time as playing high elves, can't think of any mod to give such good experiences.

I'd also like to try gondor, but, I don't like the generals of gondor too much. Seems all my favorite characters are in the elf factions and arnor.

Hadhorond is one of my favorite places. I always bring a ballista and break down the doors to get to fight Roggy at full strength, nd my ballista never succeed in killing him, it always has to be done the hard way.

this mod is indeed the greatest. Worthy of calling a game on its own. Great job

One of my coolest moments in this mod was when sieging the black gate as gondor.

the defenders had snuck a giant army behind me and assaulted me from 2 sides. I had aragorn and Gandalf in the army (epic generals) and as we were completely surrounded. The battle looked alot like in the movies (except that I didnt need no pesky hobbit to drop the ring to win and that aragorn killed a trol instead of being stomped on :p)
