last ctd
I restarted EB in anticipation of a large battle, which came as expected as soon as I ended my turn. Even then, EB still crashed at the end. It is beyond frustrating after investing an hour fending off 2 enemy stacks on the battle map.
I am giving up on this campaign because of the constant threat of crashes. I hope you guys have better luck with EB2.

Re: last ctd
I understand your frustration, EB does love to crash at the end of battles. And it does ruin immersion. There are two work-arounds for this, either run it from the ALEX exe or install alexander and use the EB full alexander conversion. I have tried the exe and engine files workaround... all it did was make battles crash in the first loading screen instead of at the end
I have yet to try the full alexander conversion, who knows it may eradicate the awful crashes once and for all? If you want to give it a go here is the link: http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...1-ALEXANDER-EB

Re: last ctd
I understand the irritation with the CTD problem as I had that at one time myself. However, I no longer have any crash's. I can play for 12 hours-big battles, small battles--many of them. I also use the largest scale. It's been many months since I have had a crash.
I am using the gold edition, not Alexander. The solution to my multiple crashes (there were several events that caused those) were found in this forum.
As I said before, I can understand the frustration. Last year I stopped playing for perhaps a month due to the same reason. I decided to try to find the cause of the issue's--and succeeded. There are gems of info buried in the tech help forum that should be added to the main trouble shooting guide to help players fix their game.
Sort of funny--even though I cannot remember the last ctd with this mod, I am still in the habit of saving before ending a turn--each and every turn. It most certainly was an issue.

Re: last ctd
It's not EB, it's the Rome engine and it's pretty random as far as cause goes. Sometimes wiping out the stack in a city you're besieging while fighting another army will CTD, sometimes it won't. Sometimes the game will just refuse to let you fight on a certain turn.
