Yes I believe that was the only sighting of naval units in gameplay. The only other thing I have seen is concept art. I hope they release a naval battle in the future.
Nothing on it yet.
But you'll be able to control navies in battles. Naval battles will deal with ramming, you'll be able to sail your troops onto shores and assault docks in cities. Navies do not sail openly on the waters anymore, but rather along 'provinces' on the seas. You place your navies in certain areas, and enemy navies can no longer simply sail around.
All sounds pretty cool and I have a good feeling about navies being more fun and practical this time around, but unfortunately very little has been shown.
Nothing.
But i will leave a small warning ,they will be the key for sucess on campaigns.
Nothing, just nothing.,
Welcome to your second thread in one day Remwr, welcome...
We have a search function.
This is the one part of the game there should be more threads about.
One Punch Man Series VS My Hero Academia Series - Who's Better?
I hope they release a video with the naval combat system.
I'm excited for the mounted artillery that is going to be on the larger ships; it will make for some pretty cool destruction effects.
Probably similar to Shogun 2's Naval battles.
I mean we're talking about seamen and marines. Marines if I recall correctly were the archers while the seaman were the ones that excel in boarding actions. The more seamen a ship had the stronger it was in boarding actions while a ship that focused more on marines was more effective in archery.
So RTW2 will probably have something similar I mean both eras involved ships powered by oarsmen. Shogun 2 also had ramming as well so obviously we'll have ships in RTW2 that are designed just for that.
so is everyone gonna have the same ships more or less? And are catapults on ships a real thing that happened? Was also wondering wether we can call up naval strikes on targets like in fots?
Sounds like I should make a thread about this .....![]()
One Punch Man Series VS My Hero Academia Series - Who's Better?
I want to be able to have things a little more complex than just pressing a button and waiting for the outcome..
(i) I want to be able to set the detachments of marines involved in boarding an enemy vessel. To the extent that i may board a detachment and then detach my ship and move on.
(ii) I want rowing speeds to be chosen and mean something to the crews stamina. Not simply have a top speed with no tired me or ramifications for the crew.
(iii) I want sailors of different nations to have their skills reflected in turning speeds and ship construction skills
(iv) I want to make decisions about landing sails before battle or not
(v) I want to be able to rake oars and then if i lose some oars to be able to reconfigure the ships crew
(vi) I want to decide what kind of marines my ships have and how many of which marine units are on each ship.
(vii) I want to be able to ship oars to avoid a rake
(viii) I want to be able to tell marines to testudo on deck
(ix) I want to be able to deploy reserve rowers to replace casualties or add to ship speed at the right moment
This is just the start and i doubt we will get any of it if it really is to be the after thought that shogun naval combat was.
So there isn't going to be any kind of boarding action?

I fear that there aren t many changes since shogun II naval system. We have made many threads about more immersive naval fights, but I don t feel it has been listened. We will see...
Apparently there will be several ships in one unit, so we will maybe see more ships in the naval battles than in shogun 2. We have already seen ships with onagers on them.
Naval battles with ships with oars have been tested in ETW and Shogun II. The needed adjustments (exept th eship models themselves ofcourse) are limmited.
The only thing that has to be done is the work of balistas and catapults on ship decks. But CA has proven that has created much more complicated models/animations so i do not worry about that.
The roman crain is something easy to be done and wooden decks and ropes to help warriors to move from a ship to another has already be made.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
read this to avoid misunderstandings.
IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
