It's what I have said. I can't agree with a choice made by CA but at a certain point I give up because it's obvious I can't judge upon a pair of videos and a handfull of pics.

Or insulting to the poor dead total war fan. Who you neither know or care to look into what he may or may not have done with his life. Plus "the great" Scipio is a long dead Roman who we have neither met or care to meet he could have been an idiot, where as the totalwar fan clearly made an impression on CA so much they thought they would honour him. Complaining about what someone looks like is hardly a big issue and for all we know they may have looked identical.

I don't like speaking ill of the dead who ever they are.

You probably don't understand what you have read. I was answering to a question nothing else. I have stated the reason why I saw that not fitting to me. Because I have nothing to deal with the dead man doesn't mean I don't care for his death. Every non-sense deathfor such an illness is a lost to this world.
I stated my reasons and my idea and it deserve respect not only because I wasn't the only one feeling that way but also because I respect the others.

Ok fair enough but I don't understand why his face on Scipio is an issue to anyone?
Apologies if your insulted its just that I knew that specific total war fan.

Many people found it of a Bad Taste
Many people are feeling disturbed by seeing a dead men face , in such a tragc way and knowing all the background in a game
Many other just think it is disrespectfull for it and for other customers of a game .
People are supposed to laugh , enjoy and be happy playing the game , not mumpling , reflecting and feeling bad by constantly seeing that face .
Some would find it even religiously blasphemic

Personally I find instead it is disquieting and distrurbing .

It is not really a good choice , most of developers or movie makers write " in memory of ... " they do not slap into the face of everyone that dramatic event in what shoudl instead be a moment of recreation and distraction .
Instead this choice has turned it into a disquieting and disturbing feeling .

This has nothing to do with respect or insulting . it has to do with how people feel about it .

I would really like to know about what I whined in this thread.

Thus far, my only complaints concerned the Iceni, the pre-order bonus (the only worryings which I expressed publicly in the forum), the 1tpy and Scipio's face (because I feel uncomfortably killing a digital hero, who resembles a real passed away person), but the worrings about the last two were kept in myself.

However, I defend the people's right to express their opinion, unless they are rude and insulting, since censorship is unacceptable, especially, when committed by immature fanboys.

Finally, you should understand that rude whinning is just as bad as naive fanboyism, since both groups exaggerate, despite the fact they haven't seen the final product.
In contrary, positive criticism and mild aprooval should be encouraged, since theu help the developpers improve their games.

Now, if you want to blame the CA for anything, blame them for being so stupid about their marketing and withholding so much information and detail on the game. The game is about three months from its release date and the CA has not really revealed anything besides the playable factions.

And so the reason why so many people on here complain so much and are so nitpicky is because there is not enough fresh and new content being released so they dwell on and overanalyze the very little and old content that has been released and blow the errors out of proportion.

Respect for you, and CA as they deserve it. Developing good games and make a good profit from it isn't easy these days.

You mean like all the apologies we got about things that were promised but not included in the games? Oh wait.....
Typical fanboy behaviour......... I have bought all total war games and this is by far my favourite game series but CA is a company. They don't make games for free.
We are customers, we pay for the games. We have every damn right to criticize. Oh and Bioware deserved every bit of the backlash that they got.

You have a right to criticize but be constructive. There is a difference between making a legitimate complaint or criticism and calling CA a bunch of crooks and liars or posting the same thread over and over again when you know one already exists. Especially when CA has already responded to those threads. I've never seen CA lie about features in their games. Remember the words "work in progress" and "subject to change." CA chooses their words carefully. With ETW there were many, many errors and problems but they didn't necessarily lie. They just didn't get to where they wanted to be. CA even admitted their mistakes with ETW.

Edit: All a member on this forum has to do to find the latest info from CA is click on a CA rep's username and select "find latest posts." It's very useful.

If you think about all the big promises about the awesomeness of the Empire:Total War AI and what we really got in the end....well.... maybe they don't choose their words so carefully.

As I said they made a mistake with ETW. They have changed staff and improved since. I actually wonder how many people were "resigned" because of ETW.

I do this job because I love it and even when people are raging hard on the forums, it’s easy to remember that people only post here because they care about the games we make.

    Games matter.

That said, there are no impressing some people and I don’t expect any opinions to change just from my post.

This is from another thread but I find find it relevant here also.

"Games matter" reminded me of "Internet Spaceships are seriouz business" a term used a lot on the EVE Online Forums. I'll change that to:
    Sandals are serious business.

Hahaha I think more to the point was that the devs can handle the criticism and don't need legions of screaming fanboys to attack every critic. I have a cousin who plays EVE, and to him it is serious business.

Generally speaking, CA staff handle criticism very well. That does not mean that CA staff members can't get stressed or frustrated by fans or customers.
