viva no charging for DLCs !
Well said OP. Couldn't agree more, when people are pouring their hearts and souls into a product that we actively enjoy, it's only fair we treat them a good degree of respect and appreciation.
Well said. A healthy reminder that CA is one of the few gaming developers catering for Ancient Warfare afficiana...officianados...official...nados....FANS!
It's just like in politics. The minorities are always the ones that are loud and stick their heads out. The majority of people who play Total War games don't have an account here and most are well behaved. It may seem that all of us feel a certain way because a few people are pretty outspoken, but most of us tend to be happy with what CA does.
Who dares wins
Kraxis- If you type in 'Total War' in google, can you tell me what sites appear in the top five search results? Now if a fansite is in the top five results, and that particular fansite (populated by the players of total war games), is full of people deriding their game, can you explain to me how that would be good for business?
That is why their reps are here, make no mistake. They are here to sell games, damage control and dispelling incorrect information. Simple.
Stupidity is the natural state of human beings; brilliance is when we fail at stupidity.
Speaking of which...
I am ever more reminded of this guy when browsing certain threads.
Apologizing for something you didn't do is really stupid and the OP reeks of ass-kissing. That said a lot of the rage is over the top and seems to have been born of nothing else except a desire to complain about something, no matter how minor the problem is or whether or not the complaint is even based in reality, IE the twenty two page Shield Bearer Temper Tantrum.

I was not asskissing, I was just attempting to apologize for what I saw as a wrong. Maybe that was wrong of me; I don't know.
What people tend to forget is CA is not EA...
I see a lot of CA bash around and tbh its not just fair. Our members should be a gentle and decent example for all. If we keep the communication in that way then the discussions and feedback shall be more precise and even pleasure to read as a proper result. Constructive, productive and creative topics flourish if we insist on that. Thanks to our moderators theyre doing pretty good and silky smooth job there. Besides, i agree with the OP and thanks for reminding people which is something has a value for all.
I didn't say the opposite. I'm being around nigh ten years of a time and TWC is the best gaming community ive ever met and no need to remind me that the forums are for everyone. I'm perfectly aware of reality and respect even embrace it. But pushing the devs and CA around for still unknown features of game for example is not the way of it. I understand that most of us real excited for the game and wondering that whats this and that. Some patience and understanding would work like a miracle.
That's it! No harm comes from some expectation,![]()
You people, typing here right in this thread, know that the worlds great democracies are borne out of freedom of expression right? Even if that expression doesn't fall into your viewpoint right?
If people wish to complain about something, as long as it falls into the terms and conditions they agreed to when they joined this site, then they are free to do so, just as you are free to disagree with them. This whole telling people what they should and shouldn't say is far more out of order than anyone complaining. If you only like to hear good things, and don't want your little happy bubbles burst, you should join the official total war forums, where many criticisms are summarily deleted before due discourse is reached.
Meh, what am I saying, lets all just fall in line and be clones. Form and orderly cue on me, with cash in hand. DO NOT question anything, but give over your money when the nice man asks for it.
If it were only fanbots who came and posted here even the fanbots would quit coming to this forum. I've read just as many insulting posts from the fanbots as from those who were being critical of CA.
The large majority of critical comments come from people who hoping to see improvements in the game.
And finally, how many of these third person appologies are we going to have to endure on these threads?
Exactly.
The most worrying thing for me, is how people think that CA come here, just to be nice. This is a marketing dream for CA. It's ridiculous hahaha.
I don't only see this kind of thinking on games forums and such like, but in everyday life too. Lots of people just seem to suck up whatever they're told, without giving a second thought to what they are actually doing, or questioning and thinking for themselves what they are actually being told.
Not all critical posts on the TW forums are deleted. In fact, most aren't. You'll usually find them moved to the rants/raves section, though.
On this I actually agree with you. Maybe they should have at least one tech rep to answer these questions by reading emails and creating sticky threads?
This is very amusing. I don't know the CA people posting here, but I would assume that they are "Community Managers". It's in their job description to post on forums and other social media sites as explained by a previous poster. It makes me want to vomit when I read posts like this and see all the fanboy suck-up posts following a CA post.
They are here to sell games, not to be your buddy. If they can't cope with critisicm they should find another job.
+1 rep Well said.
ninja-edit: they are actually called "Community Coordinators" at CA: http://www.creative-assembly.com/job...y-coordinator/

quote from the above job description: "Explore opportunities to capitalise on those communities and integrate our own efforts."
@LestaT Absolutely. well said. I am a fanboy in disguise
Edit: Here is a relevant apology from a gamestudio CEO: http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10...nline-players/
It's relevant because the DLC revenue model is similar to micro-transactions.

What annoys me the most isn't only the people complaining, but their complaints are so ridiculous.
Way too much self-entitlement from some members. They're insulted that they have to pay $60 when every game is now $60. They're upset that content is being offered to those who pre-order, when every anticipated game offers unique content to people who pre-order. They think that CA is attacking modders so that we can't get mods, and they can create less quality content without consequence. Every time some new information comes out, these people dissect every bit they don't like as if it's a complete deal-breaker and CA made a huge mistake by not remaining in constant e-mail conversation, clearing their approval before putting something in the game.
I feel like the majority of the people are the ones spoiling the mood here, but that's not the case. Those who are doing it are simply the loudest. I'm sure it'll pass eventually, and when the game is out we'll all be having too much fun with it to take any trolling or complaining seriously.
