I wholeheartedly agree with the OP.

But then again, I assume CA representatives have grown a thick skin with all the abuse thrown at them with every new TW game announcement. With Rome II it has actually been relatively tame in comparison to previous titles.

    Hi everyone,

You know....I've been playing the TW series since STW: WE

CA & Activision were neat. Sammy Sega & CA..........?????

Persistent problems insofar as BAI, CAI, Pathfinding made this series a love/hate thing. MANY on this forum complained for a VERY long time.

Now CA is saying they'll do something about it. Well, with NTW & S2TW some things have been done.

For me, BAI/CAI & pathfinding are THE key issues par excellence.

If these aren't addressed fully then we're still supporting a lazy ass company that wants to hold more revenue for itself than actually earning it through a proper product.

I agree with most of what you said. Except the lazy part.

Guess you forgot that during Activaion days there's only budget for 2 patches per game. 2 patches only.

Seeing some responses to the thread that I began, I'd like to say that I make no apologies for my original post, and I do thank everyone who both agreed with me and who disagreed in an adult like and mature fashion.

Yes that will do. I hope the irony of the op not apologizing for his original post whilst his original post was apologizing for others is not lost on him.

When you look at this whole thread and see the posts from the so called "fanboys", I do wonder who are actually the CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY from the OP's title

There is no good enough apology for their behavior.
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.

Okay, I think this thread has gone on long enough. It's only breeding malcontent and pitting members against each other.

Yet with Rome 2 you have not paid for anything yet nor have they said no more info unless you pay! So at best your a potential customer of Rome 2 not an actual customer. That said obviously if your a previous customer of other CA games it is reasonable to ask them to improve upon certain aspects.

That's wrong. The customer has no right to criticize when he don't even know how what he is going to buy is nor he is forced to pre-order or pre-buy something he is not certain to like. The customer can criticize after he has tested the product not before.

Actually in a free society I have the right to criticize anything i want, whenever i want. I may look like a fool later but that is my prerogative.

And, since this is a free and open forum, no one can delete your/our/anyones critics ( except moderators, but that`s another thing )

Democracy is built on freedom of expression; consumers have the right to voice their opinions and it's a wonderful thing. If you don't like that then there's some nice places out there were if you do express any greivances then you do meet that kind of fate; they might be a bit more suited to your mindset perhaps like a North Korea concentration camp guard or some thrid world interegatater

Yes and we are expressing grievances about other consumers grievances. That is democracy as well.
And btw if you are against death threats you shouldn’t put ‘rofl’ in your sentence when making a point. It comes off the wrong way.

agreed. it seems ludicrous and also somewhat insane to me that people are worried that somehow criticism is going to scare away CA or something bad is going to happen.

    paranoia or what?

p.s i have seen very strange stuff on guru3d.com/forums and there's been about 6 real trolls banned since i was a member. it usually involves fanboys who cant stand it when something bad is said about their graphics card for example.

it's probably easier for the mods though as you cant argue with facts and hardware deals in facts mostly (well ofc you get the pre release hype).

in fact if you look at pc hardware the same amount of marketing exists and false promises/faked results exist. so it's not just game companies that do. big money...

nvidia with the wood screws my all time favourite i think. (they caught with a mock up of a graphics card that was completely bogus).
