And if you wish to add on this topic ,share with us the levels you will play with each faction or just some of the factions.
    Respect to be respected.
As usual i will report anyone with cinic commentaries and disrespect.

I will play, with all peoples ,or on VH or LEG,depending on how LEG is ,but always choosing LEG level.
I dought that we will have everyone going allied and turning against you as we had with Shogun 2 that was really stupid in my opinion.

I'll most likely start on Hard for a few campaigns (playing different factions), then up it to Very Hard after I get a feel for the game. I doubt I would make Legendary a regular difficulty setting for my campaigns.

I like to start out on normal because it tends to have the AI cheat the least.

This. Once you go past normal the game becomes less immersive and diplomacy goes out the window because the AI plays to beat the player rather than play like a country of the time would. I'd play higher difficulties if it didn't mean the AI cheated/ignored diplomacy.

I have writed on the first message of the topic, to not go on that ridicoulos conversation that the AI cheat ,this is not what this topic is about ,this is only what level will you play and who .

HV off the bat, took me a bit to survive Shogun 2, but totally enjoyed the thrill of getting overwhelmed at start.

    I'll start on hard.
Ive never played VH really, does it actually make a difference in how the AI performs in newer games? Or is it just more aggression and bonuses for the AI?

Far as I can tell main impact of higher difficulty are changes based on resources. With more resources AI becomes more aggressive and more resistant to player demands/negotiations because of more resources. There are a few other changes to do with RD and technology as well but basically resources is the underlying difference far as I know. Anyone know anything else?

I'll probably start off at Medium or Hard and work my way up, as I do with every Total War game. Hopefully the AI won't 'cheat' so much this time at higher difficulties.

Hard, probably, unless I see the factions being unreasonably stubborn as in the older TW games at higher difficulties, in which case I'll stick to Normal.

Please due some people dont know how to respect others opinions ,lets not start with AI "cheats" or "that just excuses from players" ,etc, etc.
Just share the vote and factions and the rest leave to other topics.

Ah no bud i wasnt refering to you exclusevly .

I cannot vote yet, but if I could I would vote for a normal campaign. Medieval 2 tw was my last total war game (yes a real shame) and I think the AI at H/VH and definetly LEG will beat the crap out of me. I'll probs start off with Rome at normal, if it goes well i'll try the other ppls at a more challenging level, I suppose.

If it's anything like Shogun, I'll play a few turns on normal to get my feet wet, then jump to hard. After a few campaigns, very hard is where I stay.
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

Normal in my first game to try it out, then will progress up the difficulties.

Normal, so I can apply a few of my "house rules" without being at massive disadvantage, like limited number of elite troops, limited troops running around, low level of micro in battles, etc. But it all depends on how the game is balanced. If I find it too easy, I would simply go a notch higher.

If H, VH and legendary are based on cheats, will play normal for sure.
