Re: Canterbury Cathedral
After the great embarrassment at the archbishops previous lodge, Johann Pierce apprehensively approached the great cathedral at Canterbury, with hopes of meeting with the Archbishop himself, Ralph d'Escurses.

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
Johann was brought before the archbishop who was sat behind a huge dark wood desk that was covered in parchments.

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
Good Evening, Archbishop, Johann said nervously. I have recently come to these lands, with the intention of creating a church of my own. I have settled on the small village of Courtney Downs, located in your area. I was wondering if you could direct me on my way to becoming a priest?

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
The Archbishop was pleased, new priests were always welcome.
You have ecclesiastical training, my son?

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
Aye, my Father. I studied for several years under the tuition of Friar Williams, a greatly skilled and passionate man of God, though you may not have heard of him. I have his letter of recommendation right here.

The Letter Reads
"To whom it may concern
I met Johann at an inn, while I was on my travels. We shared a table, and after asking me about my work, we began a theological discussion. I was greatly impressed with the logic and reasoning employed by so young a man, who had so far received no teaching on the subject. I asked if he wished to become my student, and he readily accepted. So, for the past two years I have been educating Johann on the fine art of Priesthood, until his own knowledge equaled my own, and I could teach him no more. He has learnt with passion and at a rate surpassing anything I have seen before. He has a fine a heart for God, and will make a fantastic representative of Him on earth, where ever he may choose to settle.

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
The Archbishop nodded slowly.
You believe that you are skilled enough to enter the Priesthood? The Archbishop of York has expressed a need for a Chaplain in Carlisle.

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
I cannot know if I am skilled enough, my Father, until I actually experience the priesthood for myself. As for the location, I would inquire to the size of this settlement. I have developed a distaste for settlements more populated than a large town, and would prefer not to minister in one. However, if you will it, I would go where ever you please.

Re: Canterbury Cathedral
The archbishop picked up a parchment from the desk before him and scrutinised it.
The chapel is outside the city of Carlisle, though I believe its purpose is to minister to the castle there.

Johann appeared noticeably relieved.
Thank you Father, this sounds like an ideal spot.
