Default Customizing weapon loadouts for legions !!!????

hi guys, i just got this from the Rome II article on Wikipedia

Players can also customize legions by choosing their weapon loadout. This probably means that players will still be able to determine the composition of individual cohorts, even though they will be building entire legions at a time unlike in previous Total War titles where the player had to build all units of an army separately.
this is new news for me, could someone throw some light on this ???

    thanks

Hmm apparently the source listen is this one: http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/tota...ayer-and-mods/

An interview made with lead designer James Russel July last year. Early in development, but I guess it's in the game then. I'm going to have to see for myself how this works before I make up my mind.

If I understood correctly you will be able to make your own army setup for example 10 melee infatry, 5 cavalry units, 3 archers, 2 slingers and group them up into a legion. Then simply by clicking 1 button instead of picking them again one by one you can produce a legion with a unit load-out previously chosen and made by you. A nice time saving feature.

I think this will more likely be in the game.

It may be different presets as well, which unlock as you upgrade your buildings. Being also able to choose the exact composition you want would be better of course, but presets would really help the AI. I also hope that we won't be able to have an entire legion filled with elite troops - those should be rare and never the backbone of your armies.

I brought this up in another thread but ended up getting a bit carried away and babbled for ages about how it might work.

Are you sure you have enough punctuation marks in the title?

This is a feature I'd love to see. Unfortunately, if you read the article that is referenced in the wikipedia article, it doesn't actually say that

Being able to choose your soldiers loadout would add greatly to the strategic depth. Say more cutting weapons vs poorly armed enemies, and more specialized weapons vs well equipped enemies.

But... does that also mean that if I play as a Barbarian faction, and get my hands on a blacksmith, iron and have enough funds; that I can pimp my troops with heavy armor?
