Default unspecified error when launching medieval two

OK, I have spent that last few hours trying to fix this problem.
Whenever I try and start medieval, whether it be a mod, britania (my kingdoms) or just vanilla medieval, I get the Unspecified error, I do not even see a loading screen.

I have reinstalled the game twice and have my UAC off, how can I fix this?

I was playing the game this morning and after I did a bit of modding this happened.

There is nothing in my log folder... is this also strange?

I have the patch I believe
I am not trying to load anything, once I launch the game it just shuts down once it loads, I do not see the first loading screen

Before reinstalling, have you dleted all traces before reinstalling? In Vista, Win 7/8, Medieval2 has two folders if if installed in default location.

Hidden in users\username\appdata\roaming\I don't remember from here.
You will have to unhide all files, folders, and drives in Folder Options after logging in as Administrator to find it.

Ok, I checked, in the creative assembly area it only shows Shogun, empire and Napoleon.

I am going to re-install it one more time and see if it works then.

I did that earlier and it still did not work

Also for some reason vanilla Medieval 2 works... but not kingdoms

I am going to download the patch again and see if this works.

Right-click the C: drive icon, click properties, click the Security tab, click Advanced, click Ownership tab, click on you Administrator login if it's not picked, click the box down the left side about including all child folders and files, click okay.
The rest just click okay for everything Windows won't let you own.
