Cool! And I'm a descendant of 'probably' a lot of Barbarian factions; Germany, England, Norway and Sweden.
But to your question, it might be that they will appear as a non-playable faction, and if we are really lucky, modding will enable the possibility to play themI mean, who knows? Maybe there will be a DLC that includes them aswell?^^
Best of luck mate, only time will tell!
Alans in the sense of the dogs ? alaunts or great Danes ?
Seriously I think the Sarmatians will be included in a future DLC
I am a descendant of the Romans, Saxons, Angles, Celts, Franks, Jutes, Goths, Norse and most probably Neanderthals (up to about 0.4% although I know people more like 40%). And thanks to some German research a while back, I can safely predict I am descended from the ancestor of Alan and every other person on the planet.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
they are better than the seleucids anyway
but really sonny, I would go out and spread that you from allan, because I am your father! search your feelings

Not sure about Alans but Sarmatians or Scythians might be DLC.

In a mod probably. I don't think the original game will include Alani/Alan. Btw I think Alans came a little after the starting time period of the game.
There will certainly be Sarmatians and Scythians though probably not divided to distinct groups (Rhoxolani, Sirakes, Aorsi...)
I too would love to see a Scythian faction. They are one of the more interesting cultures in this time period... raiding down through the Caucus mountains into Turkey and also down around the black sea into Greece. They allowed women to fight in the armies and based their society around hemp finding it a rather useful material for clothing and other fabric needs.
Alans were always a part of the Sarmatian tribe. And during the game Sarmatov was more than the Scythians. I beg you to look at the cards before, to think something. there is a period of Historical map world 1300 BC - 1500 AD

Let's cut the crap and stop posting spam and off topic. You'll suffer the consequences if you continue to do so.
Just curious How can you claim such a thing ? Do you have a clear genealogy tree with a clean traceroute of all the populations that have migrated across your native land?
Speaking Ossetic doesn't means you are automatically a Descendant of that tribe .
No European actually could link its roots only to a specific place and the whole Europe is child of prehistorical migrations and breedings among cultures , mostly Indoeuropeans wich Include Celtic , German , Slavs , Italics , Greeks , Scythians , Iranians etc...

That Said I would Liketo see too Alans, Sarmatians , Saka, and Scythians , but Actually the firsts are alsoclassified as Scythians .

The fact that the Ossetians are descendants of the Alans, it is proved. Yes, there are stories in the crossing, different halo groups. But there is also the main branches of the halo groups.
Currently, out of a rather large nations, haplogroup G with the highest incidence occurs among the Ossetians (found in 60% of Ossetian men), and in Digorskaya Alagirsky areas of North Ossetia - up to 75%.
As stated above, haplogroup G was found in half of the Terek Cossacks.
Besides them in Eastern Europe Haplogroup G is most common in southern Russia and eastern Ukraine (about 11%), which some researchers considered the result of inclusion of traditionally lived there alan come later in the East Slavic population (the Alans and the eastern Slavs).

I have no problem with the fact that Ossetians are descendants of Alani (who are/were a Sarmatian people).
I am a Caucasian myself and I know about our neighbors a little bit!
I think your ancestors will be represented in the game one way or the other: either as just Sarmatians (more likely) or specifically as Alani/Alans (less likely).
I would love to see North Caucasus divided into 3-4 different factions, but probably Caucasus will be mostly ignored and it would just be one giant Sarmatia covering the entire North Caucasus.
Sorry but this sounds like the typical thred with non-sense racial topic. Half of the world is a mix a cultures and reces. Sincerely what is the connection of the ancestor or presumed ones of a man and this game? None.
I have in my DNA Roman one for sure as my family is from Rome and were part the Prefects of the Pretorio since the Imperial age. But I can't say what happened later nor I start a thred to whine becasue there is a faction that would represent them.
Ok for me Rome is the base and the main faction but if I was from another country I would have never started such a thred as what I look after most is the enjoyment of a game.
That's all.
The Alans might possibly make an appearance as the Massagetae if the map extends as far as Bactria. If not, then they will just be part of the Saka or Siracae faction. They were present as units in Rome if I remember correctly.
