Playing in windowed mode

Hey, so I have MOS and I would like to play the game in windowed mode. I un-commented the "windowed = true" line, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Anyone have a solution?

There was a thread regarding windowed mode.. have you tried using the Search function? Type in windowed, and click in Show posts, one of the posts with solution is mine, but can't remember it now, and am at work so can't find it using my phone.

Instead adding windowed = true, try windowed = 1

EDIT: Found it, you just have to remove this sign ; in front of windowed = true, so that it looks like this:

Hmmm.. Find medieval2.preference .CFG file found in ..steam/steamapps/.../medieval II total war folder, and make a backup of it somewhere just in case you screw up things .

Now, right mouse click on it and go to Properties.

At the bottom, if Read - Only Attribute is checked, uncheck it and APPLY and OK.

Now, add these two codes:

[launcher]
autoBorderlessMode=true


[video]
windowed=true
borderless_window=true

( Of course, each code goes in appropriate section, first one under [launcher] , second under [video] section )

Save the changes, right mouse click on medieval2.preference .CFG file and go to Properties again, and, this time, check the Read- Only Attribute. Apply and OK.

EDIT: ALSO, there is a way to just edit TATW.CFG file, I just found out this guy did it for Steam version, more info here.

Have you tried to resize it like any other window by dragging the edges?

Or, make changes in the medieval2.preference .CFG file and test with resolution sizes ( info on sizes available ):


battle_resolution = 1280 1024
campaign_resolution = 1280 1024

Remember to uncheck the Read-Only Attribute in Properties before making changes, and, to check it back after making changes.
