Default Did CA hire modders of rome 1 total war?

The three best mods for previous rome total war were:

    Roma surrectum 2
    Rome total realism 7
    Europa Barbarum 1 and 2

They could help CA make an epic game, based on the mods they made... I hope Ca put attention to their mods and hired them in order to make very good and polished gameplay. Aside from that they could help Ca make a game wherein players wont need a mod for a while because vanilla version could be a very good version...

I also don't think that CA will ever make something as awesome as those mods, simply because their target audience is bigger than TWC.

You have a point, but if they hire modders, vanilla version could be a very good version wherein you wont need mods.

    Just my opinion....

True i totally agree .But i think CA is not more realistic due some people that work there dont let it and keep poisining TW with a more merchandising game.
And i dought that "our" TWC modds could get a cure for the poison and give the TW that we all want ,like the modds.

There will always be mods, even if the game was designed by modders. I mean, look at the number of mods there is out there, all completely different. RS, EB, RTR and all those other mods you didn't mention are rather drastic conversions of vanilla, but none of them suit everyone's needs.

And besides that, the motivation of many modders comes from what they think the game should look and play like: they have a "dream". They dive into the game files and change things according to how they want it to be. Working in a team where the CA or Sega bosses put limits on how long or at what times you can tinker with things, where you have meetings trying to get to compromises with your team mates on how things should look and many many more restrictions, does not work for a modder. Of course there are mod teams, but thats mostly just a gang of people who accidentally share visions and are thus able to cooperate. But other than that I'm fairly convinced that if you put most modders forcibly in a professional worksphere, it's not going to work.

Just leave modders do what they're good at: let them tinker with the game until they're personally satisfied with it and release the stuff for greater public. Then everyone gets to pick the mod he likes the most and so make his own game perfect for himself. There is no one size fits all, so you shouldn't want that either.

It's not like the modders are more skilled or have more access to resources/information than game developers, hiring modders is in no way a guarantee to a better game.
Improving a game is hell a lot easier than actually making one and the guys working on R2TW are probably more skilled than most modders.
CA can look at features that the mods used for their new game but hiring mod teams is just silly.

having experience modding an antiquated engine equals skills in making a new game on an entirely different engine they (probably) have never even tried to mod?

Well, they didn't hire Darth and he got mad apparently. They hired Jack Lusted who was a modder but he probably had other qualifications.

Darth made that piece of crap ETW playable. CA should build him monument.

In your opinion. Usually, he just compiled other people's mods. He was probably lacking other qualifications.

LOL. The Uncylopedia. I meant no offence. I'm simply stating what is probably true. He lacked certain credentials.

    Amen to that

Vanilla ETW was a cruel joke, probably the lowest point in CA's history (in my opinion anyway).

CA should acknowledge modders because they contributed in fixing bugs and meeting players demands.
They should hire those who have qualifications. They could help make total war series (vanilla version) a good game.

Just my opinion by the way......

In my opinion modders get too much praise when compared to game developers. They're not some kind of super-developers, they're just people that are painting a fence into another colour. Most of them don't know how to plant the stakes in the ground

Pretty much, the real heroes of modding are the guys making the tools for the community, everyone can change values in a database endlessly.. but creating all this stuff from scratch.. yeah no, you can forget that
