Are we going to see a more historically accurate balance, with almost every "sword" unit having at least one other weapon (javelin, spear, bow, etc.)?

Units will be separated by weapons for the sake of gameplay. Just like Shogun and the other TW games, the battles are made up of a complex rock-paper-scissor game. But we might see some dual weapon units which are elites like Cataphracts. Maybe some eastern units will equip both spears and bows, this is not known to us. But Lusted have said that most units will be separated by weapon type and role in battle.
I think specifically they said that this game would probably have less of an RPS element than Shogun II. The question though is how they're going to design that RPS.
Javelins+sword, bow+sword, even spear+sword (hoplites) combinations were all present in the original RTW. However it also had a lot of units that only ever carried a sword, and I'm not sure those guys were really necessary for balance.
I hope that soldiers that throw javelins before charging into close combat are universal.
