Only three month's to go now and i guess even writing this thread is a huge waste of time but i feel pretty let down by everything so far.I cannot be the only one who is thinking hold on...three months yet i know about as much about this game as i do from a game still a year off release! And from what i have saw it looks like it has been semi rushed. And i know a few fanboys with low IQ are going to say "well it just left alpha two weeks ago" but they are deluded. It is not even the big what if about the massive bits of the game (campaign and multiplayer) but even the small bits we have seen have been a complete fail so far considering this is meant to be the biggest most epic totalwar ever.
Unit speeds and morale looked all wrong going against all the feedback given from previous games yet the only thing that came our way was an arrogant response which consisted of ( The units do move slower than Shogun 2) which is hardly what we wanted to hear? We wanted to hear you say "we will slow things down this time we promise" or "guys here is some gameplay footage of two units fighting 1v1 so u can see how things work out now".
I am just going to use minor things as an example and so i am not here for hours ( which i easily could do as there are many more things i dislike and from suggestions there are many things probably never going to make it into the game like orderly retreat and building hadrians wall and a more minimal UI)
Example 1 Units of Rome/Macedon
Incredibly skinny legs and bodies on the units making them look like peasants and not professional troops who walk miles per day and are drilled daily.
Skin color of english northern europeans on roman troops.
Weird victorian era voices used on roman troops ( posh melee infantry?!?!)
Example 2 Cities
There is basically nothing going on in them since ten years ago. When u go into a city it seems like a complete ghost town. There are no peasants running around in a panic or people trying to escape the seige. No real evidence exists that some of them are home to maybe a hundred thousand people.I dont remember ever seeing lights on or fires in the cities at night making them look cosy and as if people actually live there.Small things like abandoned carts and horses. Anything just to add some realism to it.And before anyone says anything about additional things for the graphics card to render i say that all these things can be scaled down dynamically if the troop count is below 5000.
Personally i think its not been long enough since Fall of the Samurai and that the game is being rushed.A 3rd December release date would make this game so much better.Even worse is people are actually super excited by the Sept 3rd release date.As a child i was always taught good things come to those that wait.
