    Default 3 questions

    1) What is the max number of unit groups one can put on the battlefield on single player? Is it 40 units or 20 on one full stack. And in addition can you also have a full stack of ships along with troops when u attack a coastal city. That would be quite a sight to see.

    2) when there are to much units on the battlefield for the human player to control. Can you ask the ai to take control of some of your units. I know for example that about 10 was the max i could control with gunpawder units on FOTS without just using them recklessly in battle.

    3) Will Rome be the faction to beat on Rome total war 2? Or can other factions like Carthage/Seleucids be just as strong or even more expansionisic as Rome. Im guessing the 2nd punic war with Hannibal hasnt started yet, so Carthage may be about as strong as the romans. Can history turn out to be quite different 300 turns later, like having an AI Carthage control half of the map?

    1) Pretty sure it's 20.

2)Not sure what your asking? But i think Ai reinforcements will be in... maybe.

    3) I'm guessing that it will be a bit like a toned down version of Shogun2, with a little longer lasting factions.

He's asking if he can get an AI second in command, to which to leave a part of his army, while he takes care of another part of the battlefield; during battles with many units. I think I've heard that a function like this might be in, though I'm not sure, and I don't remember where I read it. In any case, a simple solution to the problem is to make groups and treat two or three units as one.

    1. CA stated that its the same as FOTS so 40? but i dunno about how many in one stack and the ships
    2. Welp... in Shogun 2 and all its expansions you could give the AI some units to control but they only have two options defend and attack
    3. All total war games are random so in one you could have Rome getting beat by Carthage or Carthage getting beat by Egypt... its the randomness of the game that makes it worth playing though some say it isn't so good that "major" factions die off so easily like in Shogun 2, so...

    Samuele D,

Yes thats what i was trying to say. 10 units is about the maximum i can handle on FOTS and shogun 2. Its one of the reasons why i dont use much ashigaru (peasant units) in my stacks when i have more then 10 units.

I hope i can give the ai control of the units i can`t handle myself in rome total war 2.

If 10 is the max you can handle you might wanna consider training a bit to improve, it will make for a far better and funnier gaming experience for yourself, trust me In any case, the new tactical map feature may come in handy in keeping track of more then 10 units, as the debug camera did before, for those able to master its use :/ (not me!)

This is important to me too, i would like different scenarios for each play through. IDK if the gauls becoming an empire would fit historically, but it would be cool. especially if they take italy too

Btw, about 3, seeing how the major clans got destroyed in the first turn in Shogun 2, i don't see why other minor wouldn't raise in Rome 2 as well. I imagine they have balanced it better so Rome is not left out in the first few years in its own game.

If i look at the campaign map ( or should i say the art map by Sega) there are like 4 regions for rome. So i assume that it is much harder for a rebel faction to rush its capital and kill it off in a few turns. With 4 towns/citys it might be possible to create multiple units at the same time. Also only the north of its provinces can be attacked by rebels. I am guessing that sea landings are a bit harder to pull off so there is really only one front. So i dont think Rome is in any danger at the start of the game of being rushed. Maybe a faction like Sparta or Athens can be rushed and conquered in the first few turns.
