    Default Securing the Succession

[ooc: Raymar Lefford must procure himself a wife and create Heirs. He has chosen to attempt to get a Daughter of House Sarsfield, a neighbouring province to Goldentooth, as his wife. I'm in need of someone willing to play a Westerlander Lord (Lord Sarsfield) who has an unwed Daughter of breeding age.]

The party approached the great fortress in Sarsfield, often passed on the Gold Road en route to the Rock or back. House Sarsfield were a noble family, and their mounted archers were something of a wonder in a military context. Raymar and his hundred-man retinue rode up the road towards the keep on their mission: one of Lord Sarsfield's daughters would become wed to Raymar, all things going well. He had several daughters, some too young for marriage, some of age: in need of an heir Raymar hoped to be able to marry one of the women, not one of the girls.

The goldentooth colours are seen riding towards the keep's great gate.

The Lefford party is allowed into Sarsfield and Lord Lefford is escorted into the great hall of the Sarsfield Keep and is brought before Lord Sarsfield. Lord Sarsfield was a man in the mid-forties with a receding hairline and a clearly engorged stomach. The man was sitting on his throne and eyed Lord Lefford as he entered the room.

“Welcome Lord Lefford to Sarsfield. Of what do I owe the honor for your visit?

"A good day to you too, my Lord. I come on a mission of marriage: I intend to ask you for the hands of one of your daughters in marriage, such that our two houses can be united in these troubling times." he said with a smile.

Lord Sarsfield’s eyes widened at the mention of those words and he thought “A marriage with the Leffords. How interesting. They are close to the Lannisters and a marriage to them could secure Sarsfields power.”

“I am surprised about this offer Lord Lefford but I am most delighted as well. As you said, I have several lovely daughters.” He then directed Lord Lefford over to the wall where three of his daughters were waiting, all fair with long golden locks, and shining skin. “The first girl is my oldest, the lovely Catelyn. She is age 26. And then there is my second daughter and most beloved, the wonderful Sansa, age 23. And finally my youngest daughter of marrying age, Allyria, age 22, the fairest of the three. Have your pick Lord Lefford and she will be yours to wed.”

"It is my hope to have a large family, and I would not rob you of your dearest, thus I would ask you for the hand of Allyria in marriage." he replied. He was pleased to be able to marry a girl of childbearing age, as with his father gone and no children of his own, the sooner he was able to produce heirs the better for Goldentooth.

“You have chosen well Lord Lefford. And may your union produce many heirs. Now come let us celebrate this wonderful agreement.” Said Lord Sarsfield.

OOC: Where do you want to go from here. Since he is only a NPC, I don’t think we need to do the whole marriage RP. Plus, they are long and boring anyways. If so, I guess they can be considered married and off to the bedding.

[ooc: Yeah no need to bother with an NPC marriage thread. Thanks for your help!]
