Default When can we expect the Demo if any

I believe the demo, if following the past TW games, will be available late july at the earliest and early august at the latest however I'm not sure why the gameplay is being kept such a secret other than heavily scripted gameplay as seen in Teutoburg forest. If you remember before shogun released they loved showing off far more and were actually fighting battles and such. I don't know maybe more will be revealed or maybe the faction reveals were just a new way of hype for them instead of gameplay but I am sure a demo will come but not before late July atleast.
Either way a late july-early august demo is fine as my birthday is right around then

Totally , I just don't know how to deal with this .

I think we need to get more info and details such as campaign map naval battles , tech trees , unit rosters and etc then a demo would be great .

Yes I'm hoping all or atleast SOME of this is in store for us in the next month and a half until the Demo is released because it'll get REALLY interesting on their forums if they dont give us something DECENT this summer

A lot of hype fanboys will come and tell you that there are still 3 and a half months until release but truth is that CA has already created extra content - the Greek Culture pack so by all means they should have a demo ready by now.
Why the secrecy, I don't know, but a lot of people preordered this game already with only 2 preset pre alpha battles being shown and the number of playable factions released. Truth is, we have seen NOTHING of the actual gameplay, the one that we are going to receive at release but again, a lot of people think it is enough. I bet that for the next TW games all CA has to do is announce it and everyone will freaking preorder it just because...

Honestly I still would just because Total War games have never failed me (even Empire was fine to me with eventual mods ) and until like the day CA releases a game that only includes 1 battle and is like pencil characters I won't stop pre-ordering just because I'm a loyal fan
I do understand and agree, however, CA hasnt really been showing us much in regards to gameplay, campaign, and other things besides the announcements of each faction and info but like I said in my other post, it seems to me they are really trying to use the Faction info and reveals ot get the real hype in this installment rather than just show gameplay and talk about it, it seems like they feel they were on to something in Shogun 2 encyclopedia type thing for unit roster and stuck with it for Rome II news.

I absolutely agree with you with the pre-order issue, but shouldn't we be more patient about the information reveals. Actually, the map, the demo and a probable naval battle are the only information left! Moreover, the hype originated from the last information still exists (10 threads per day), so I would prefer to slow down a bit (in three weeks, we saw Pontus, the Greek Pack, Jack Lusted and the release date!). Do you imagine a possible, disappointing information drought during summer?!

I'm sorry but I think deciding wether or not to buy a game based on the quality of past installations in the series is a lot less naiev then basing it on reviews. I know what I like in a TW game, so far I haven't seen things that dissapoint me much and many things that do impress me very much. Added to that the time period this game is in and the quality of past installments is a much better reason then trusting reviews from the same people calling themselves game-journalists who all gave GTA IV 10/10's

They don't do demos anymore. That's why you have certain sites that we for some reasons are not allowed to discuss here.
It's redundant to write your username at the end of your post,

come on, so you want to see everything then decide to buy it later? like reading all the review and then buy it? where's the joy of a kid waiting for his birthday/x-mas present? or you want them to know which one they will have before they got them?

and pre-order because of some video? did you ever play any total war game? if you did why did you say that? total war maybe fail sometime ( empire and napoleon i think ) but they had never disappoint us completely, that's a flat trust.

It's my point of view in this matter, sorry for my bad english

Most of us, who preordered, are capable of cancelling the preorder at any point before the 3th of September without any monetary loss. Do you think, because I preordered, I will stop watching the info CA gives us in the coming month? Ofcource, I will, and I will be considering at every new info release, if my preorder is still worth it.

Demo is a perfect marketing tool to push preorder once again. around 4-6 weeks before release. Just look out for the news: Preorder Rome 2 Total War now and get access to demo today!

I doubt if they will put out a general release demo.
Game magazine,s will probably get invited for interviews and demo,s.
The Fans can read about the results.
Some game play info would be nice.

    Tabor,

"Actually, the map, the demo and a probable naval battle are the only information left!"

Ill say we have seen very little at this point. We have seen almost nothing about the battle AI. Only 2 scripted battles which give no clue about how good it is at this point. No campaign AI eather. Graphics, unit deversity, sound an music looks to be allright but it takes far more to make a good game.
