Indeed, I don't see how you can conflate "steppe cultures" with Turkic ones. The former is an umbrella term denoting any number of cultures that inhabited the steppes (Scythians, Sarmatians, Alas, etc, as Gaiten has pointed out) and the later is a specific tribe outside of the period this mod is concerned about.
I second this statement, rep to you sir, but I suggest we just stick to talking about how awesome these units are because based on a post in the franks thread made by the user you are responding to, we could end up in an off topic argument on the origins and appearances of peoples.
On topic, I Love the roster, question, will we get a preview of AOR units , that will be interesting to see.
New preview looks amazing, great job![]()
Did you guys add a unit that looks like this? These are Kushan's native Gandhara infantrymen.
This is impressive! Amazing work guys! Really amazing...
Edelfred pardon my rudeness but What in the world are you talking about? What kind of history book's have you been reading?
Okay , you guys can make pics anywhere you like ,but
it is already been in history that intolerant people were destroying Tocharian frescoes because they were half-blonde Europeans and not Turko-Mongolic .
Then talibanes in Afganistan have destroyed bactrian Buddhas .
So if you try to make Kushans to look not the way they have been you kind of risk to loose objectivity and tolerance to the truth

Not as Talibans ,exactly, but as mainstreamers . What it means . For example Russians don't know that Slavic are from Central Europe ,they think that they are indegionous there ,though provinces in Western Russia have Finnic names and were populated by Finno-Ugric people up to the 16th AC .
Americans bit more cultured but soon they will forget that they are immigrants and the real Americans are Indians .
So while Kushans were either Indo-Aryans or Tocharians they have nothing whatever to do with those poplation ,which conquered Northern India after them .

Same period, similar layout.
Native Gandhara infantry.
Being the Armor freak I am, I have to know, what's the Helmet being used by the Kushan infantrymen and Axemen called?
