Default 117 reasons to keep charging us for factions

The game will feature 117 different factions around the campaign map,[8] each with their own unit roster and agenda. Eight of these will be playable on the initial release, more will be included as either free or paid downloadable content,

This is from the Rome 2's Wiki Page
So I'm wondering, can all the factions we are asking to have be in this collective? More african factions, more eastern factions. Definetly and Iberian one. Is there 117 possible payable factions that we will definetly have to pay for somewhere down the rode? I was wondering why there were so many, I guess they really learned from Shogun 2. People will pay extra to play as a new character. I dont mind it to be honest. I will continue to give this company money as long as they keep supplying me with hardcore, adrenaline pumping experiences. Theyre like a drug dealer that way. But I was just wondering and hoping that these 117 factions will be very diverse, or at least there should be a few gems in there. Like I would love an african faction or even another babrbarian one. I just wanted to bring attention to the level of detail I'm hoping is going into these 117 factions, because for CA this will be a gold mind, unless a modder makes them playable first lmao
I was wondering why the map was going to be so big

Considering All Clans Playable came out pretty fast after Shogun 2's release, I expect someone will find a way for Rome 2 as well.

If someone does mod it so they're available they wouldnt be fleshed out. At least I dont think. In shogun2 when they released the factions via mod did otomo have the tercos already? or the priest agent?

Yes, I think that is Sega/CA new strategy- make it moddable but make the mechanics complicated enough (in a good way so can't totally call it money grab) that simply unlocking or modding a few files doesn't match the original factions without alot of work. Some modders will rise to that challenge but probably not nearly as many as with older TW's and it will take longer giving Sega that much longer to make money from DLC's.

I really doubt the 117 factions will be playable. Considering that most of those factions will be barbarian tribes. It would be pointless to make all of them playable.

I am sure some factions will have unique units of their own. Most likely those are the factions that will be released later on.

The factions i could think that could make it for the final roster might be.

Lusitani, Numidians, Syracuse, Dacians, Scythians, Thracians, Cyrene, Rhodes, Pergamum, Seleucid Empire, Armenia, Bactria. This are the sure ones. That would bring Rome II to a total of 24 factions!

The probable factions must likely would be. Nabateans, Axum, Maurya Empire, Eastern Iberians.

That would make it for a total of 30 factions.

Well yea, that was what I was thinking. I see alot of threads with people wanting these factions to be playable, but what they dont realize is that more than likley, selucids, iberians and thracians will be pay to play at some point. We might even get some crazy ones too lol
I remeber Rome 1 had a faction deep in russia, where there was an army of amazon woman lol I know its fantasy but I wouldnt mind seeing some cool exotic playable factions

I will pay top dollar for the Seleucid Empire, and then a lesser dollar for Bactria, Pergamum, Armenia, Scythia, Dacia and Syracuse (I would never play a dedicated campaign as the Iberians... Although I understand the appeal and would get them as well for kicks lol)

Some of the Iberian tribes resisted active invasions of Romans longer than most others as well serving very well in Roman legions and there is a big blank spot on map there and the possibility of some interesting units/tactics more similar to Suebi perhaps than other factions.

Warning if you dont like stupid patriotic rantings try to avoid the below text.

Iberian tribes and a mix of those and celtic make for some fun history , also as Ichon said alot of tribes(basically all of the west, north and center that didnt ally with rome) resisted alot and some argue that the north(Gallaeci,Astures,Cantabrians and northen celtiberian tribes) was never really conquered, among the best mercenaries of hannibal(dont know how well they did as auxiliaries) great metal workings, semi advanced barbarians(i know that atleast the lusitanians and Gallaeci used baths and played sports for fun and to keep in line(not including training for war)),great figthers(i think)

also lasted a very long time against the romans (219BC-19AD).

i am done stroking my country/ancestors/own ego, proceed on please.

my reason to want them you said? cause i live in iberia lol.

hahah that was good speach, i just read on wikipedia that they did last a long time against the romans, the romans though never gave up. You could be part roman if you look far enough too, seeing as they took iberia so long ago.

for all i know i could be Gallaeci or Suebi or Visigoth or Roman or a mix of all those, also it wouldnt surprise me if all of europe had atleast 1 roman ancestors (as in roman citizenship) or 1 of each big group that lived in Europe there has been alot of mixing in al those years of history.

also i hope that if they choose a Iberian tribes that it is the Gallaeci tribe(prob. not, but a man can hope) as they where (most probably) my ancestors.

also thanks for the liking the speech , was expecting everything to look at me like "what a patrioctic numbnut"
