Default So many noobs who don't understand the gaming industry

"OMG money grabbing DLC!!!" is a common saying amongst irrational people today. What seems to be over looked is that many months before the game ships, stuff like factions and units stopped being worked on and added into the game as the push for release nears. What do you do with those employees that have no work in that specific area of expertise? Well you either put them on another game, or let them go work for another company. Instead of that though, why not work on extra content and release it along with the game? It creates even more incentive to pre-order the original game AND you get more content.

I have a better idea-put those developers to work on campaign DLC and expansions instead of pre-order ****. Maybe even another free DLC faction in order to show fans respect.

What Concillius said. Don't blame the consumer that you didn't have the imagination to get your staff to work on something worthwhile.

I don't take anybody who calls somebody a "noob" seriously. What you said is irrelevant. To me at least.

If this is directed at me I should point out that my suggestion of offering free stuff was a "maybe". I'm not demanding free stuff, I'm saying that I'll happily pay for one thing but not another.

Its not about noobs or non-noobs.Its about some respect the companies give to their consumers.Instead of awarding players with their loyalty they have for the game and the trust they put in the company, they make crappy DLC's instead of full expansions

Clearly they're crafty consumers because they won't buy something they want because they think it should be free.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are so certain of themselves, but wiser people are full of doubts.

The pre-purchase system is a problem and has been for a while, I've not been a fan of handing money to a company before it releases the product and we can judge it. There are a number of occasions where things have gone badly and unfortunately many people will preorder to get the extra useless items that tends to come with that. This however is a pretty major object, it reminds me of the debacle with Mass Effect when it released important story arcs as part of a pre-order DLC.

Interesting point. Was that pre-order DLC or day one premium priced dlc? This will be both.

If I recall, it was actually worse than that. In order to get the DLC 'free' on launch you had to pre-order the special digital edition of the game, or the physical collectors edition, each of which was around 15 quid or so more than the standard edition. Otherwise you had to buy it separately on Day 1. That's without even taking the type of content into consideration, which was arguably vital story content.

If you want me to read the tread dont use words like noob and money grabbing DLC. We`ve got plenty of those already.

What's that? you guys don't want more factions? well then, we'll just take those 4 extra factions back and let you play with the original 8. Expect more content in an expansion in 6 months or later, no dlc.

That's a-ok with me. Let the modders handle that sort of thing for free.
