Default Too many regions for Seleucid faction?

I am a friend of historical authencity but I dont think it would be a good Idea to make this game historical correct in alle its aspects. Its still a game and it should be balanced between the most factions. So: If the seleucid will have most of the eastern regions, it would have like 15-25 regions from the beginning. That is too much...

What do you think, which regions will seleucid have?

Babylonia, seleukia, antioch,Tarsos, apameia, ectabana, persepolis, charax

+ being large empire isn't always good, they were like west roman empire in barbarian invasion, many riots enemys from every side, so they would be diverse for the game actually

They will have nothing, their entire empire will be replaced by rebel states. Their very name shall not be spoken, and all references of their existence shall be removed from the data files.

Stretching from Persepolis to Tarsus I assume, then Cappadocia (ish) to Raphia on the border with Egypt.

That would be an accurate portrayal of it; although I dunno how CA will portray them.

I feel like they'll try and cut back on the "ACTUAL" historical number to make it harder for the Seleucids, OR, they'll make a whole bunch of Regions rebel from the very start to show how hard it was to keep the whole Empire from Collapsing in on itself. Honestly, I loved that, trying to maintain a crumbling Giant against an endless onslaught of Parthia, Egypt, Pontus, Armenia, (and now) Pergamon, Nabatea, Bactria etc... It's going to be LEGEND...wait for it, SELEUCID!

So Here's how I think it'll be... Red it regions that'll be owned and will, for a time, be relatively calm... and then Orange is regions that will revolt immediately and break of rather quickly...

The Seleucids are meant to be big, and hard to play, that's why they have so many fanboys out there. They will also have a lot of enemies which will crumble them rather fast, and most probably some regions will be just protectorates (Aria, Media, Cappadocia..)

I think that the fact that they would control so many regions is the only reason that their not playable.

I had a rather fun campaign with them in Rome 1, where I failed to defend all the wide territory, so I basically relocated my empire (Including a mass immigration of peasant units to increase population) to western Turkey and built a new empire based around the Agean sea until I could strike east again and retake all the lost land. Was pretty epic.

I believe that they will be playable, it's simply that they have so much more depth to them than smaller factions... the CA team will release them as a DLC for a fee because the amount of work that needs to be put into this giant we know as the Seleucid Empire will be very time consuming, it would be like trying to make the Roman Empire under Trajan in 117 to be immersive, fun, and challenging for a player that controls the largest Empire in the world. The Seleucid's will, like all the other factions, have three inner-factions vying for power, plus a plethora of rebelious protectorates in Anatolia and the East... the Powerhouse of the Ptolemies in the South as well as the growing powers of Parthia and Armenia in the East, along serious threats from Pontus and Pergamon in Anatolia, not to mention any number of unpredictable events. Furthermore their military is incredibly diverse and reflects the huge swath's of land under the Empire's dominion... Armies composed in Antioch will differ in certain ways than armies fielded from Persepolis or Ectabana, with Seleucia being the last true Hellenistic Center... Furthermore the CA team will (God willing) create custom models of Seleucia (the largest city in the world along with Alexandria and Rome at the time) Antioch, Persepolis and many more...

To make the Seleucid's fun, one must take into account all the work that must be put into them. They are the most diverse and complicated polity at this time because of their size and all the external and internal factors that weigh in on this vast Empire... They'll be in the game, I have no doubt about it, question is when

Weak Sauce... if you played any of the Mods, such as Roma Surrectum or back in the day, Rome Total Realism, the Seleucid Empire was EVEN bigger than in Vanilla Rome, and you had more enemies, more threats, and more insanity. That's where it gets fun, holding back against never ending waves of invaders. My favorite enemy are the Ptolemies...because it's a war of complete Annihilation. It was always a race against time, my eastern Borders would be invaded by Parthia where the small Garrisons would fight to the last man and take as many Parthians down as possible so they wouldn't be able to attack the next small garrison for a few turns, I'd be holding Pontus or Pergamon in the Tartarus Mountains while chasing five Armenian stacks in the wastelands between Antioch and Seleucia... all the while I'd go toe to toe with the full force of Egypt, ravaging Alexandria with prejudice and setting the Nile ablaze...

    Those were Good times
