Default 275 BC or 270 BC

Which will be the starting date?

For historical accuracy, i believe 275 BC sounds perfect.

    Around that date...

    1. Phyrrus is still alive *that means Epirus might start with a small army but a badass general. Making Epirus an interesting faction.*
    2. Rome has yet to unify Italy *Which will make the starting regions the Roman faction has, more accurate.* In fact Rome unified Italy around 270 BC, so yeah starting at 270 BC wouldn't be historically accurate.
    3. Carthage hasn't expanded to Spain yet. *again it makes the starting regions more accurate.*
    4. Cyrene rebelled against Egypt. *Another reason why Egypt doesn't have Cyrene.*
    5. And other stuff...i'm no history expert, so this is all i could remember...

On the other hand 270 BC, is just good if the game has a set ending date *let's say 30 AD or 60 AD* But CA already told us the game won't have an ending date, so the beginning date could adapt better to historical accuracy.

Epirus with no Phyrrus would suck so I prefer he was still alive with maybe a few veteran units.

Does it matter? It's only 5 turns.

I thought they said 268 bc was the starting date and there were 300 turns

I've heard nothing of a start date aside from "Between the Pyrrhic Wars and the First Punic War". as for 300 turns, that is mostly for the tech tree and possibley other things, there is no "end date" as far as victory conditions go
Sometimes I argue in favor of things i don't necessarily believe for the sake of a good argument. ( #51 )

And sometimes i argue in favor of things because i believe in my argument. ( #16 )

I, too, was hoping for 275 BC - mainly because Pyrrhus is still alive!
