    Default Question about Parthia.

Please don't troll this thread or flame
But We know that since Pyrrhus of epirus the game's startdate could be between 275 bc. and 272 b.c. when he died at argos

But at that time Parthia was only found out at 247 b.C. so why are they actually included in the game while they actually didn't excisted?

    I find this actually strange?

Did anyone from ca explained why they're playable while they actually didn't excisted at the given time?

Because they are interesting and different. And people wanted them.

I don't think there is any evidence to support the Iceni or Seubi tribes existing at the game's start date either if I remember correctly. Parthia isn't the only one. But yeah, kinda inclined to agree with ^.

They existed as Parni, they are called Parthia from start only becouse is the more recognized name for their empire started with Arsaces and the control of that region

I think the main reason for CA to implend Parthia as a faction is simly a gameplay decision. It would be odd not the see the one Superpower Rome could not conquer, in the game.

Still it is possible to argue historical to include them. The date 247 BC you mentioned, is only the foundation of the Kingdome. The process of Parni Tribes invading and settle around Nisa and the Iranian Province Parthia is a much longer one. When the first Asarcid took over than he had not only support by the Nomadic Parthians, he had also the support of Parthians which settled for decades in Seleucid Provinces. And actually it is not even sure if the 247 BC date is right, there are at least two diffrent dates which are possible. The latest one is even 180 BC. But in the end there would have existed Parthian Nobleman around Nisa in this time which where possible quite independend under the possible Seleucid Satrap Andragonas.

The best choice would be letting the Parthians start in a subprovince as a Seleucid Vassal and i believe CA will do it.

Proud to be a real Prussian.

If Seleucids start with 3-4 provinces but many client/vassals including Parthia that would be the most interesting and perhaps allow Seleucids to become playable at some point though there would be interesting modding opportunities there if CA doesn't do a DLC.

How have the Seleucids got anything to do with this? Why does every single thread in this forum get turned into a discussion about the Seleucids!!!!

The Parthians accupied the area around the Caspian Sea as the Parni (or Parsi I forget) around this time, which IIRC what the map looks like, is represented accurately.
