Why are there no black soldiers in the Legions.

In Britain they had soldiers from North Africa and Sarmatia and other places so are units going to be having any black people.
I would imagine maybe most would be white Roman but some units should be full of black or tanned or brown.Would it hurt Graphics too much to have a black man and a white man in a unit??

This is a stupid question, I thought everyone knew this by now? They had Samaritan cavalry in England, but they were all organized in sarmstian units, not integreated with roman, white, cavalry. Seeing black legions and white legions in the same actua cohort would make no sense either, a legion do tecruited from a province, Italian legions, gallic legions, Spanish legions, theres not going to be anyone of African descent in those places. Only North African legions will Will have that kind of look, if they do have it.

In the movie recently made I remember a black guy who was good at running when they were trying to escape the girl with no tongue.
So you all want every Roman to be white......Imagine looking at your troops lined up to fight the Iceni and you spot a black man from Libya in your ranks.It adds to it.I am sure there was a black General who carried a religious Christian artifact.I am googling to see who he was.

I understand the point you are making. Just want to mention that many, if not the majority of, Sarmatian tribes are genetically closer to the Norse and the Goth people, their skins are paler and fairer than the Romans, and mostly are tall with blonde hair.
So while I agree with your statement that the Sarmatians are not integrated with the Roman units, I agree for different reasons than the Romans being the "white" units, my reason is that they are segregated more for the necessity of the logistics, and of their training, weapon, and equipment.

As for black skinned legionnaires, I think it is perfectly acceptable if they are recruited from North Africa.

Its actually not true, a "European" Legion fighting in Syria, Egypt or other African Region would often replace losses with regional Reinforcements wich could have whatever Skincolour. As legions often were relocated after successful Campaign, soldiers with dark skin could often find themself fighting Barbarians in northern Europe.

while the Romans did recruit legions from all over the Empire, including North Africa, that doesn't necessarily mean black people. The peoples of North Africa were largely Berber/Phoenician/Numidian 'brown'... sub-Saharan 'black' people were in another part of the African continent, seperated by the largest desert on earth.

The Roman Catholic Church has had a number of Popes from the Roman colonies of North Africa, for instance, but they've all been of largely Roman ethnicity.

The non Roman citizens served in the auxiliary units not in the legions, after 25 years of service (if they survived) they got Roman citizenship

In Roman times, Black troops were sent to the remote and barbaric province of Britannia, and some of them stayed when the Roman legions left Britain.
So they could be auxillery spear men or skirmishers?We could have mixed units perhaps..

I am pritty shure that they will exist! But you will only be capable of recruting them If you conquer the required region and build the required military inferstructure there.
CA simply isnt going to publish a preview of every single little detail within the game - that wouldnt be good marketing.
And if they dont exist - I am certain that "Black skins" will exist in the vanilla game and that modding some African auxillery troops into the game wont be that hard.

But yeah, I hope that one one has conquered a region, one will be capable of recruting troops from that region which have the skins and maybe some traits which are unique to that region.

You are talking of Late Roman Empire , and anyway Egyptians were not black ...
It could happen in the game if they conquer and turn Meroe into a Roman province perhaps and eventually grant citizenship , then you might rise a legion there ... but is quite unlikely to happen ... unless may be that the Developers implemented some kind of "racial" change in the roman legions based on where you recruit your troops ...
