Arthurian RPG setting
At some point in the far future I am going to be developing an Arthurian RPG. Relax, this project is not going to be finished or released for probing in a long while. I'm just going to gauge whether you want it to be more fantastical or historical (or perhaps a bit of both) it's certainly going to involve Dumnonia and the other Brythonic kingdoms in some way. I've not even figured out how I'm going to do this yet, I'm just gauging a reaction.

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
Just going to throw this out there:
Fantastical: Camelot type society, involving magic, knights of the round table, magical sidhe, merlin with actual magical power etc. King Arthur, Morgana and Mordred, Avalon, magic stuff.
Historical: Ambrosius Aurelianus AKA Arthwyr, King of the Britons, defending against the Saxon invasion as well as fighting Vortimer/Vortigern
Mix: similar to Bernard Cornwell's "The Winter King", sort of historical but with fictional influences (prophecy's, Arthur in existence, Merlin involved as well as Mordred but in a more believable setting)

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
Well, I would be actually interested in either Fantasy or Mix. Sounds pretty cool.

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
The gist of this is that we will play as knights/warlords who serve Arthur and command men in his name. There will definitely be Artifacts/Relics to be found; if its fantastical I will allow the discovery of magical artefacts and MAY allow magic itself.

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
How's this?
Uther Pendragon, King of Logres, has died in mysterious circumstances, leaving his prosperous and powerful Kingdom in the hands of his son, Arthur. Merlin has dissappeared into the wild lands along with Morgause, Arthur's sister, and now with Uther's demise the Saxons advance upon the borders of Logres. The Picts overrun the north of Albion, and now Morgan le Fay, Arthur's half sister, has fled along with his nephew Mordred to Orkney after an unsuccessful attempt to claim the throne in his name. Arthur has created the Knights of the Round Table - a sacred order made up of the greatest warriors in Albion - in order to protect his kingdom from foreign incursions, something that may become commonplace now that both the Saxons and other British kingdoms are eyeing Logres with greed. Arthur has recently married Guinivere, the daughter of the loyal yet impoverished King of Cameliard; spurning the daughter of the powerful King of Powys, which has evidently angered him. He now raises his warriors to invade Logres in response to this humiliation. Arthur must defend his kingdom from both Saxon and Briton, for he is the once and future king, destined to rule all of Albion from his court of Camelot...

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
Hm. I know Eboracum appears in the King Arthur rpg game, but it's not part of the Arthurian mythology, right? Just curious as I may want to be a Romano-Brit of sorts. Or descended from one.

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
I will make a map. It's sort of adapted Arthurian with some bits added in to fill the hazy gaps.

I would be interested then in Morgan le Fay.
I always want to be the mean guy/girl in most RPs, I noticed.

Re: Arthurian RPG setting
Oh hp, if it wasn't so mod demanding it would have been great! And I vote for mix. Less magical elements cuz as I said, hard to mod correctly
