Dan Carlin http://www.dancarlin.com/ and Greg Aldrete http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/p...l.aspx?pid=422 are making a pilot with me for a Creative Assembly or YouTube Rome 2 campaign series.
The plan right now is to have 2-3 elite gamers, playing as Roman factions, take over the world. The players would summarize their activities every few turns with spliced in overlayed gameplay highlights. The historians would seep you in the Roman times, chronicle the complex social, political, religious, etc... phenomena permeating the rich world, and narrate/commentate their opinions on how the warlords are faring. A battle or two and a historical discussion would also be thrown in to every ~75 minute episode based on what the audience is interested in seeing.
Is this something you would watch?
Please provide your thoughts on what aspects you would be interested in. Something purely about history? The gamers playing on a high Very Hard or Legendary difficulty mode to appreciate the tactical finesse like an eSport? A mix of the two?
