Rome, then possibly Macedon, followed by maybe the German faction, which is either Suebi or Iceni, I don't remember which is which.

After that, maybe I'll go and do a cmapaign as a Greek or Eastern faction.

Wanting to go for the main show and namesake of the game title, I'll play Rome first. SECOND, I'll probably head far into the exotic East and play Seleucids (well-rounded faction), IF they are available officially, or Pontus and then Parthia and Egypt. Then Athens.

Well then you are probably going to get some half-baked faction. Unless the modders go the full length and create the internal political system from scratch. It will be require a little more than just a startpos edit I think.

Well, my first playthrough will probably be a boring Rome, you know just to get it done.

So my list will probably look like

Parthia
Suebi
Epirus
Pontus
Athens

Iceni (closest to Ireland we get) so I can invade Greece and all those surrounding pansy countries and bring real civilisation to them.
After that, probably Athens or Sparta... we're allowed to slum it every once in a while.

It was going to be Rome but since Pontus was announced, something about them has drawn me in.

I've slaughtered thousands of poor defenceless Pontic eastern infantry in Rome 1, but never actually played as them (I really don't know why, who wouldn't want to have a family member called Herakles!?)

So yeah, Pontus it will be!
