I don't know what the whole problem is?

its graphical UI that is different just like it was in Shogun 2, and yet did it affect our game play? No.

You are someone who clearly can't except change in the simplistic form, like many other moaners have said they hated it at first, then they played the demo and loved the UI.

So just give it a chance before you've actually used and tried them.

It should just be a picture of the unit, like the old times.

No. Shogun 2 has better units cards:
    - historically, from period of the game,
    - good looking, different between units and colored

    Rome 2 has bad cards:
    - not from period of the game (archaic Greek vase style from 8th-6th BC - it is the same if in NTW will be units cards from 15th century)
    - not good looking - hidous units, few hundreds units will be similar.

I think it's best to wish all factions got their own style based on their culture & art style. Don't really think they will change anything since it's a couple months before the release date & they'll be focusing on other things than changing the unit card, or they're just going to make a DLC out of it, as that seems to be what everybody do now.

Unit cards aren't historically accurate! Yes they had TW games 2500 years ago and they did the unit cards differently.

It doesn't matter tbh cos unit cards are one of the few things that will (hopefully) remain modable.

/signed to the OP. I said and have seen others call for mosaic tile style, unit cards.

The style seen in the demo is horrid to behold. One can only assume it is a work in progress, but the direction is not looking good.

Vastators unit cards are an easy fix too. But Shoguns unit cards are the best looking imo.

Artistic historical cards of Shogun 2 and classical cards from other games are 100% better than ugly cards of Rome 2.

I actually really like the unit cards I can see how others wouldn't like them though. They are anachronic and the part of me that wants historical sized armies is also going, "You'll attack unit sizes and army limits but you won't attack this?" Giving into aesthetics.

I don't like very much the Shogun 2 cards because you can't see the entire figure but only the trunk and in RotS only the face, the Rome 2 UI cards are far from perfect but at least you can see the whole unit

Absolutely agree with you. These Unit Cards are ugly (most ugliest thing ever seen in TW), indistinctive and totaly unfit for the time period and roman fraction. It's very, very sad that CA doesn't want to change them.

They may be anachronistic, but IMO they're damn beatiful. And they fit in with the kind of stylized look they seem to be going for for the interface.

I'm not a fan at all. I don't see what was wrong with the old type of unit cards:

    OR

Obviously the "theme" would be different for Rome 2 than Shogun 2 but man... I don't know.

We can still discuss the feature even if CA isn't listening.

CA won't change it. So we need a mod.

Absolutely yes, they are useless and ugly imho. I prefer render ones

When first shown during Tuetoberg video I almost hate it. Now seeing it more a bit after the Nile video my impression is more towards liking it. I still believe so far from what I've seen Shogun 2 (and ROTS, I don't like FOTS) are superior.

Might have to actually play the game to really know how I feel about it.

My problem with the unit render style is that the unit cards is like it was made by different persons (they probably did) but it just turn me off. That's why I don't like unit mods etc especially if their unit cards is different from the general or vanilla one.

When developing TIC I made sure that the unit cards made use the same concept even they were made by different people.

If there will be a mod changing the unit pictures... please have the option to want to change them in other mods. I'm actually used to them now that I have seen them practically every day.
    Got nothing...
