Hey don't know if this has been asked before. When I bought Skyrim on steam I was able to download it before it was unlocked so I could play it as soon as it was released. Does anyone know if that's the case for Rome 2 yet?

That would be cool, but the download usually only takes a day or two so no big deal.
It's not like this is an MMO where whoever gets to play first gets an unfair advantage.
Most likely yes.
I haven't seen a trip-A title that you couldn't preload on steam for three years.
@ptoss1 Well Its really about whether Im gonna get the hard copy or go digital. I dont have the worlds fastest internet connection so Pre loading would be nice so I can play right away.
@Virtanen Thats good
Pre-loading has been an option in previous TW titles so it will probably be there for Rome II as well. In this day an age of 10+ gigabyte size games its very convenient to have pre-loading as an option, because even if you aren't going to play it the second it unlocks you still have it downloaded for when you do play.
There was a preload option for Shogun 2 a day or two before release, so there'll probably be one for Rome 2 I'd imagine.
Thanks guys. Ive bought all TW games as hard copies so I didnt know.
Also a trick to download faster on steam is to click play while it is downloading and it focuses all the download speed on steam and speeds it up by a long shot.
I can't see a situation where they don't have a pre-load for Rome II. The chance of there not being a pre-load is 0 surely....
