Icon9 TATW 3.2 and MOS submod crash during launch

I have the TATW 3.2 installed and the MOS submod. However, when I try to start the game I get the normal launcher, click teutonic (what I have the folder named). It then launches, shows the first loading screen for MOS, then crashes telling me medival II has encountered an unspecified error.

Tried running the cleaner.bat file, pressed enter(any key) and it closed right away, did not solve problem.

I just saw the hobbit for the first time and am dying to play this game (haven't played before). a timely and effective response will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there and welcome to TWC Forums!

You installed it wrong, answer these few questions:

    1. Is your M2TW steam, or non steam version?

    2. What Windows do you have?

    3. Did you install all four TATW Installers ( TATW 3.0 part 1 and part 2, TATW Patch 3.1, TATW Patch 3.2 ) ?

    4. Did your TATW work before installing MOS?

    5. Usually for submods it is better to ask for help in their threads, this Tech Forum is mainly for TATW issues. What version of MOS Installer did you use, that Full Installer, or the one with more parts?

    1. Steam Version
    2. Windows 7 (64 bit I think)
    3. yes, based on the assumption that installing part 1 of 2, 3.0, part 2 of 2 3.0 installs
    4. I did not try it, I used this mod and MOS before and just wanted to go straight to MOS on my new computer
    5. sorry about the mistake, should I move it there? If so how? and I used the full installer

    Thanks for the help

    Hi there !

I seem to have the same problem as EpicCubman.

    1. Non-steam version

    2. Windows 7

    3. Yep. Yep. Yep. And re-Yep. All good !

    4. Yep. Does work perfectly, and the back I had made still work.

    5. I know I know, but I'm lazy and I don't want to go there . Its scary (right ?).
Anyways, using v.1.41 normal mos. It works, put upon load it says: problem with G5BAISwitcher.vbs , it does not have the authority or something like that. The game works just fine, but when I tried to install EMM sub mod, upon starting the game crashes.

Will try to re-do what I did, I'm curently re-instaling MOS for like the 3rd time.

For MOS Submod you need to install TATW all up to 3.2 patch, so that means you need to install all four Installers (TATW 3.0 part 1 and part 2, TATW Patch 3.1, TATW Patch 3.2).. For the actual TATW installation, go here and follow Steam instructions, these things you need to do first:

    1. Edit the security for your main M2TW folder as instructed there. After that, delete the currently installed TATW which doesn`t work.

    2. Use one of the methods mentioned there in section STEAM Installation of Third Age Total War ( or, rename one of your Kingdoms campaigns by following the pictures ).

3.BEFORE installing MOS, check does your TATW work, for battle crashes d
isable daylight saving settings: go to Control Panel, Clock, Date and Time, Change the time zone, Change time zone, uncheck `Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings time`.

    4. Make a New folder on your DESKTOP, name it MOS.

Now, Install MOS into that MOS folder.

Then, copy all the content of that folder, and paste it into your Third_Age_3 folder and OVERWRITE everything when asked ( if you renamed one of your Kingdoms campaigns, then paste into that one where your TATW is located now - DON`T paste into your original Kingdoms campaign, for example, don`t paste into british_isles_original! )

Remember to run Cleaner.bat file MANUALLY before trying to run MOS ! You can find it in the folder where you have just installed MOS ( that is, in your renamed Kingdoms campaign where TATW and MOS are installed now )

    5. Launch your renamed Kingdoms campaign from Steam menu, and if lucky, you will be playing MOS.

Go here and follow the instructions:

    1. Edit the security for your main M2TW folder, unhide hidden folders, check the Virtual Store and delete M2TW folder if found there..

    2. Uninstall your current MOS by using Start - All Programs- MOS- Uninstall MOS.. and Uninstall Third Age TW by using Control Panel - Uninstall Program.

    3. Install TATW, all four Installers.

    4. You have MOS installation instructions there too, be sure to follow them. And run Cleaner.bat file at the end!

    Good luck with the installation.

Hi there and welcome to TWC Forums!

Try one more thing before reinstalling TATW: Go to your ...M2TW/mods/Third_Age_3/data/world/maps/base folder, and delete map.rwm file. Check does it work now. If it doesn`t work, answer these few questions:

    1. What Windows do you have?

    2. Where is your M2TW/Kingdoms installed? Give us the exact location.

    3. Have you installed all four TATW Installers (TATW 3.0 part 1 and part 2, TATW Patch 3.1, TATW Patch 3.2) ?
