If you have a look at the map that comes with the Collector's edition then you can make out parts of the map. It looks rather small though, with the spanish peninsular only have 4 regions or provinces and North African only having a few aswell. I was expecting something more, however this may not even be the final map so I'm just speculating.
Scroll down and you'll see there's already a thread about this
I am fairly sure that the provinces are split into subdivided regions. Why these aren't on the map I cannot answer, but those aren't the only settlements in the game!
I can't seem to find the other thread and on the thread detailing the collector's edition it says there are only 57 provinces..
remember, a Province is not a singular zone like in previous TW games; it is now split into various sub-regions, which are themselves capturable.
But the game costs £109.99!! loool That is insane, I love Total war but you could buy a TV for that!!

It's said in the description of the content that the map only shows the provinces. The provinces are divided into regions. I'm very happy to see all of Arabia included.
Actually, the map is somewhat as I expected. In some area's there are more provinces then I expected (In Spain I was expecting 2 provinces with 4 or so regions each) while i other area's it's a bit less (I would have guessed egypt to be split in two provinces).
Due to the hinting towards the eastern end of the map these past weeks I was starting to hope the map would expand a little bit further. But I can totally see the design choice of not adding India, I hope there will be some trade benefits in this region, as well as some threats (invading Indians once in a while).
Overal, I like what I see but it all depends on wat a single region contains off. Do you need a province capital to recruit units? I guess not else most of the smaller starting facitons couldn't recruit units but we will see.
Overall I'm not positively surprised by this map, nor am I disapointed. Considering the preorder bonus of 3 factions my overal feeling is still very positive.
