Full report: http://www.totalwar.org.pl/indexeng.php?ArtId=440Until the last moments I was not sure if I manage to reach Leipzig on time. From Wednesday to Sunday (23rd - 27th of August 2006) the annual Games Convention was taking part there. Thanks to the great German highways I arrived on time but having only two hours (from 16 to 18) for checking everything I was interested in, was some kind of 'mission impossible'. I guess it was my bad that I found what I was looking for in the last hall - that's why I had only one hour to learn as much as possible about Medieval II: Total War. I started as fast as possible to not lose any single minute. I was doing this with such a great passion that I even exceeded the closing time for over half an hour and I left Leipziger Messe as one of the last visitors. I will write my general overview at the end of this report. Now let's head to the essence - the game.. or rather to the demontration version prepared for GC.
Organisators prepared the Battle Tutorial (for those who don't know what's this - it is a part of tutorial that explains the basic rules of commanding your army, all this of course in full 3D), two historical battles (Azincourt - 1415, Pavia - 1525) and quite big trailer presenting some strong points of the game. The demo that was available in Leipzig didn't reveal any strategic mechanisms but - according to the information that I've heard from Sega - this aspect should be added to the public demo which is still being worked out.
