Okay, why is the cd/dvd not in the drive as the copy protection has been since the game's release when I bought it?
If you used a cracked .exe before installing the patch, can't help you. You will need the disc in the drive for online play.

So, i shouldnt copy paste the crack? instead i should patch it immediately after installed?

Dealing with cracks in this context is against CA's EULA that came with your purchase of the game and this site's Terms of Service under Illegal Activities as any ciricumventing the copy protection in any fashion is considered illegal.
Put the disc in the drive or buy a copy from Steam already patched.
