Default Who should I play next?

Yes, another one of these threads.

So, here is a list of who I have played over the years:

    Silvan Elves
    Mordor
    Harad
    High Elves
    Orcs of Gungabad
    Dwarves

I'm thinking i'd rather play a good faction this time round and here are my current favourites:

Eriador - To reunite Arnor. Also to send off troops of hobbits to be needlessly slaughtered against superior forces (hey, i only said i wanted to play a good faction, i can still be a sadistic son of a b***h )
Gondor - Being the bulwark against the forces of evil, protecting the rest of middle earth. Aim to hold at the Anduin against Mordor while sending troops south to deal with Harad first. Ultimately rebuild Osgiliath.
Rohan - play very cavalry focused (something i've not done yet so a different style of game), take out Isengard first then look to the east and keep Rhun at bay and thereby helping Gondor and Dale.

I am favouring something with a different play style than what i have had so far, so Rohan looks like the favourite, but feel free to convince me differently.

Arnor would be an epic campaign, I'm on the late part of mine and I enjoyed every single turn.

It's a tough and long task to reunite the kingdom and it is somewhat annoying to switch from Eriador to Arnor (due to the fact that it will take many turns before you'll be able to effectively field a stack of Arnorian troops) but it is worth the time you invest, because Arnor rooster is amazing and a perfect all around mix to face anything.

you'll have many task to complete (get rid of OoG, reunite the kingdom, help Elves and dwarves to get rid of OoMM, help Rohan with Dunland/Isengard and finally help Gondor and possibly taking the ring to Mordor) so you'll probably won't get bored soon

Yes, go for Eriador. It's a lot of fun reuniting Arnor... and sending legions of hobbits to their death.

If you want to keep the game challenging, don't reunite Arnor Just send stacks of hobbits and Breeland Militia into Mordor By the time you reach mordor you'll be able to produce Eriador units just as much as they can produce orcs. Though I'd only recommend it for Vanilla, as MOS makes Eriador troops worse than snaga

You laugh but in 3.1, I actually sent hordes of hobbits to their deaths in the land of Mordor. Their rally cry was "Don't Die, Dont' DIE" as they charged olog-hai. It was EXTREMELY SATISFYING.

If you have MOS, I'd recommend Lorien. They have an interesting starting position and can really expand in any direction and take on any of the evil factions that they wanted to. Of course, their playstyle is pretty similar to the silvan elves, which you have already played.

If vanilla, I'd go with Rohan. Similar to Lorien, they have a nice central position, and the playstyle certainly differs from all of the other factions that you listed.

Hehe, i like the idea of making all hobbit armies. Can even still reunite Arnor and produce hobbits as i understand, so leave the regular units for defence and hobbits for attack. The Hobbit Legions of DOOOOM! I may just start this tomorrow.

Well technically, you can't build hobbits, but rather, they are gifted from the shire if you allow it autonomy Still, by the time you can afford a hobbit stack, you most certainly will have enough.

    Ahemmmm.....

    Mordor

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Nine have left Minus Morgul and have 9:30 reservations at Bob's Big Boy{Shoney's} for the midnight buffet. There serving Hobbit fritters, and Elf under glass.

Game winning unit{s}: The Black Númenóreans. {Nazugul}.

Core unit{s}: Orc Raiders, Moranian Guard.

Why this is the easiest Faction: Bara Dur, Minus Mogul, Gul Gador, The Black Gate & Werst Osciliath are all Fortresses. Throw in East Osciliath, city, Cair Adros, and *****. That's 8 unit factories under your immediate control. As soon as you can build the structures, an endless stream of High tier units is at your beacon call.

Game over folks it's that simple. Play defensively til your economy is up and running, and hand that fat lady the mike cuz she be signing.....

Gondor with MOS if you want a difficult campaign. Rohan without MOS if you want an easy campaign.
    In it for the rep.

Gondor is very challenging. I had fun with that campaign.
