What subregion split? Also Prom, you might consider editing the original post - rooster is a male cock, a male chicken, you know, the old biological version of the alarm clock . Roster is the word you're looking for

I want to add to my likes the naval regions - this will probably result in more naval battles and they might be more balanced due to the AI concentrating its forces.
I also like the new damage model, as explained by Jack Lusted and the new morale scale, which allow for much more varied approach and outcome.

Dislikes -The seemingly too fast movement and combat; I wish there were multiple person animations, like 2vs2 or 2vs3. I don't like that (so far) there won't be a playable Thracian faction.

ok sorry didn't know thanks for clarifying .

Subreginn split is the multiple regions each province is made of , you need to conquer all of them to control the province .

    Likes:

    - big map
    - more focus on eastern cultures than Rome 1
    - Parthia and pontus as playable factions
    - minor factions instead of rebels
    - stunning environment
    - I liked the sound of soldiers in combat ( Jupiter gives strength )

    Dislikes:

    - 1 turn per year ( still haven't dealt with it )
    - crossing rivers
    - the date its going to be released ( I was hoping for summer )
    - sliding in unit movement
    - ridiculous firing arrows

I'd call that the province system, because you can rule multiple regions from one single settlement - the province capital. Calling it "subregion split" may make people think there is a mechanism that lets you split each region into different subgroups, like for example the farm/port/mine mini-town has its own territory and if you conquer the mini-town you get to rule that territory. I'm not trying to be confrontational, I just know how easy it is to start rumors and here people often take rumors for granted.

And yes, the province system is very good. I just hope there won't be some side effects coming with it.

I think the pontus screenshot did have reins its just that they weren't being used, which they probably wouldn't have been in combat, since you can control a horse with your legs and your hand would be holding stabby things.

    But my actual input:

    Likes - Everything

Dislikes - arrow/pila trails, I understand why they are useful but they were a bit too obvious.
    archers seem too in sync
The roman banners seemed a bit bright, I'd rather they looked a bit battered and like they were actually made of cloth.
All the romans hit by arrows seemed to die in exactly the same way.

I'm undecided on the unit cards, the idea is good but they could be improved. Something other than a white back ground would help and the pictures should be centered, it looks a bit odd that the infantry ones have one side cut off. All in all im very excited and i doubt id actually notice any of those is i was actually playing, rather than watching.

"lack of multiple formations for units", im assuming you're refering to battle formations? If that is the case, the absence of footage does not equal to lack of formations. The button for battle formations is there, it's just that they didn't show anything, since, you know, the battle shown was an ambush which goal was to get the hell out of the forest.

    Likes:

    - Iceni
    - Warpaint
    - New combat system
    - de graffix (god dam dey are so tite)
    - Massive scale
    - Naval landings so I can re-enact the scene from Troy where Ajax throws a rower off and yells "row you filthy whores row! Greeks are dying!"
    - Sieges have ladders and towers again (a massive one for me)
    - Huge amount of units. Moar for the love of god moar!
    - The art is sick also

    Dislikes:

    - Soundtrack so far, a bit generic. I would love to hear the rest and have my doubts put aside.
    - From what I have seen in the gameplay trailers the speed of the combat seems to fast - though I appreciate they are demos and thus modified.

    Dislikes:
1ypt: For me that's the biggest dislike, I love the 12 turns per year in Fall of the Samurai so far. I would have expected it to have even greater impact in the strategy of the ancient time (the month of Mars probably gets its name because that's when the Romans would start the military)
Probably the battle animations, as I expect the Roman formations to fight less well-organised as they did in real-life. But that rests to be seen

    Likes:
    Pretty much everything else

I hope they focus on the campaign map, I love that part of the game more than the battles.

    Interesting thread Prom.

    likes

1)bigger campaign map that stretches further east
2)bigger battle maps with great environment
    3)improved graphics
4)the promise of support for modding
    5)more accurate units
    6)combined sea and land battles
7)"less sieges but more epic and more meaningful" as Jack said
8)the top view strategic battle map
9)promising battle changes, for example AP system and more meaningful maneuvers with greater morale damage when flanking etc
    10)line of sight in battles
    11)no rebels faction

    dislikes

    1)1 turn per year
2)lame names for well known units
3)we still haven't seen units fighting in proper formations (especially the testudo is terrible)
4)very bad UI and especially the unit cards are very ugly and unfitting
5)very limited list of playable factions (9 playable and 108 unplayable!)
6)some really bad decisions on playable factions (3 same/very similar barbarian factions with Iceni as playable!)
7)from what we've seen so far the battle is very fast and feels arcade
    8)very ugly missile trails
9)the movement of ships we saw in the Carthage gameplay where all the ships of one unit move perfectly synchronized as one ship
10)the "lord of the rings" style cavalry charge where cavalry just tramples everyone
11)greater morale damage from missile units
12)units that fight in dense formation break formation to charge
13)the music sounds mediocre and not epic as it should
14)fantasy units like flaming pigs and wardogs (pigs were used just in one battle, they're not a unit and dogs helped the patrols, they were not a battle unit also)

things I'm not sure about yet/I'll have to see them in action before I decide

    1)sea regions
2)the recruitment of units simultaneously on the battlefield
3)the baggage capturing of battles and generally the capture points thing outside of sieges
    4)infantry crossing water
    5)units legacy

I edit the post as I remember more things

    7 for 7!

    Likes

1 - Great choice of factions - all across the expected map and with all major cultures included. Egypt especially sounds amazing.
    2 - Strategic map view!
3 - Battle map enhancement, with a general graphic update that looks amazing, although I expect much poorer quality on not-high-end PC's.
    4 - naval-ground battles
5 - enhanced cinematic/atmospheric parts as units being visibly frightened, cities damaged etc.
    6 - No Seleucids!
7 - the promises about modding support, better tactical interaction and an unexpected free-dlc on day one.8 - a general, progressive attitude from CA with great interaction through Rally Point.

    Dislikes

    1 - 1 turn per year!
    2 - unhistoric unit names & formation
3 - Battle mechanics appear too fast and feels arcade, just like Shogun II....
4 - ....with even uglier trails!
5 - Seemingly the same brainfart units from Rome I. Wardogs....
6 - unit recruitment on the battlefield...
7 - capture the flag sieges.
