Mouse Scroll Speed

Afternoon all,

I'm having an issue on the campaign map with mouse movement, basically when moving around on the campaign map i zip around from corner to corner like lightning making it hugely frustrating to do anything. I also have the issue on the battle maps as well but it doesn't affect the gameplay as much. However this issue has currently put me off playing what is easily my favourite game, anyone have any ideas?

By the way I have changed the camera rotation settings in the options to minimum and it's not really changed anything. Is it possibly a problem using windows 7 or my PC has too high a spec for the game (I have recently bought a new pc) seeing as I didn't have this issue on my last PC.

Try updating all of your drivers, running windows update, etc....

Everything is fully updated so there is no issues there. Also just to clarify when I say scroll speed I mean the mouse pointer moves too quickly.

Also I have reset the ingame resolution to default in case having it at 1920 x 1080 was causing the problems but it's still far too fast.

Are you using any of the mouse options like trails?

Well I'm not too tech savvy, but I'll try to help. Is this problem only with one mouse or with any mice? Is it only affecting the mouse or the trackpad as well?

Is the problem affecting any other TW games (or even any other games in general)? If you have Kingdoms installed, does it affect that too?

Funnily enough I was on RTW earlier and I have no issues on that. ETW and NTW I have no issues with either but that are far more up to date. With regards to MTWII I have got Kingdoms installed and I have this problem on both vanilla and kingdoms. Sadly I can't tell if it is just this mouse I have the problem with as I have no others to compare it with. I will say that this is just a standard cheap mouse with nothing fancy on it. It doesn't strictly affect the gameplay per se but it's unplayable when the slightest touch catapults you over towards Baghdad when I was looking at Inverness.

No just basic bog standard mouse settings.

I've managed to find a reasonable fix to it. If I turn down the pointer speed in windows to a crawl and alt-tab back into the game it's a lot better. It still flies off if I go to the edge of the screen but I can't do that by accident now it's slowed down. Not the greatest solution seeing as it requires altering my windows settings everytime I want to start/stop playing but I can live with it. Thanks for your help all! Much appreciated!
