Unknown Unit Type causes CTD
Hi everyone I'm having a problem playing a late campaign as the HRE.
I used one of my princesses to "steal" a Venetian general.
Well after one turn instead that general came together with another general and an army. Every time the Venetians interacted with this army the game would crash.
So I disbanded the units and try to move the two generals away. I should mention that whenever I separated the generals they would go back to Venice's control.
Anyway at some point Venice initiated a troop merge with my turncoat generals and I ended up with one unknown unit type that I move into a fortification. Now I can't select the unit with either right or left mouse click.
Now whenever it's Venice's turn the game crashes.
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

I should mention that I have made some modifications to:
export_descr_unit (attack and defense stats)
descr_character (movement points)
descr_strat (lots of money for my faction) (i know i know I'm a cheat)
I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Re: Unknown Unit Type causes CTD
Never heard of that problem before. It's amazing that the unit portrait is replaced by a question mark; units without a defined portrait usually get replaced by a picture of RTW peasants. Did you create backups of your modded files? The modifications that you made shouldn't cause that weird bug, but here's a list of things that I'll do to try to fix it.
1: Try to replace the modded files with original copies. If you don't have them, look in the backup folder.
2: If it still doesn't work, try to reinstall SS.
3: If all else fails, try to post a detailed system.log file using the method listed here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...topped-working
