A question concering hostages..
Do you guys like the idea that you can surrender a sieged castle by disbanding all units save for general and getting the general as a hostage? Disbanded units in such scenario could be added to the settlents unit-points and be used when the area is secured (like the rule regarding for example Seagard). Of course there will have to be a gentlemens agreement in such cases were admin should interfear if the rule is broken giving that the siege have to be lifted in order for the general to get out..
What do you think?
"Får jag kalla dig Bajen? Det är lättare att komma ihåg..."
@ Korpskog- That's the rule at the moment. And yeah I will step in if people break it.
Alright, I don't like having to do this but I guess we should start. The Knight of the Rivers, start us off. Don't forget to PM me your password.
- In the event that we struggle to find players, I intend to give House Tommen to the player of house Tyrell, as Mace will ikely be taking over as Lord Regent. As for Stannis, in a worst case scenario, I'll try and find someone who is not willing to play, but is willing to admin, and I'll play Stannis myself. This is only a last resort however.

Before we do begin, I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on a bunch of new rules/ realism changes.
1. In Stannis' letter to Jon Snow after he takes Deepwood Motte, he mentions that not only were the Glover men joining him, but Tallhart men, Cerwyn men, survivors from the sack of Winterfell, and other Stark loyalists. Basically, I think that if a faction wins major victories, they could get bonus soldiers available, because more men were rallying. So is Stannis were to defeat Roose Bolton and take Winterfell, he would get more soldiers available there, as more Northmen were rallying to his cause.
This would also mean that if a settlement is currently unsupportive of a rule (ie Torrhen's Square, The Arbour, Seagard, ETC) it's people will declare for pretty much anyone who can help them. So if Aegon were to take Seagard from The Freys, the soldiers avaible there would accept him, as he would have saved them from a rulership they do not support.
2. Treacherous Vassals. Settlements could go over to an opposing faction, if they give up on the cause of their current one.
The main reason for this would be their faction is a lost cause. For example, if Roose Bolton's army is destroyed, but he and/or Ramsay survies and escapes, House Bolton would continue to exist, with all their territories. But realistically, are the Dustins, Ryswells and flint's going to want to die for a lost cause? No. So while House Bolton might remain alive, The Rills, Barrowtown and Flint's Finger might declare for Stannis. This would have to be done by Stannis sending a diplomat to House Bolton, and asking for those three regions, which Bolton would have to accept.
3. Something similar to this could be that during a siege, a garrison yields, against the wills of the player. For example, say Aegon besieges Fellwood. In Fellwood, there are a handful over Tyrell units, outside the castle, there is the entire golden comapny. The house Tyrell player may choose not to have the castle yield, and try to bleed Aegon as much as they can. However, facing certain death, that handful of spear militia and peasant archers may not share their opinion. Now sometimes in these cases, their honour would come above their sense. But sometimes not. The besieging side could offer terms to the garrison alone. I could decide using a random generator, then message the parties involved to proceed as they usually would for a yielding castle, even if the bieseged faction does not wish it.
With limited units this could be a big way to save men, which I predict will become very important in this hotseat.
4. The Lord Regent. Another big part of this hotseat involves fealty, and orders being sent out from the king. And a majority of the factions in this hotseat owe fealty to King Tommen. However, as of the start of The Winds of Winter, Tommen is not of age, and his regent has met with an unfortunate accident where he accidently set off a crossbow into his own stomach and repeatedly fell onto a large collection of knives... *ahem*.
Anyhow, logically the new regent would be Mace Tyrell, in which case it would be House Tyrell who gives out the orders to the vassals, as well as House Tommen.
If we want to avoid this we can just make Cersei Regent I suppose.
Anyway, I just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on these various new rules.
They sound just fine!
Can't wait to get this started!
Yeah lets go!!![]()
"Får jag kalla dig Bajen? Det är lättare att komma ihåg..."
I'm not in the hotseat, but I will offer my 2 cents anyways. With that new rule number 3, there should be a stipulation that this is only possible if reinforcements cannot arrive. Because many times in hotseats armies are able to make it to a besieged settlement to help them sally out (and I doubt the garrison would surrender if they knew this army was on the way)
Tyrell up!
I hope I set it up right.
