    Default Three Questions!

    Hey guys,

Question The First - Does marrying one of your princesses to another faction's heir cause an everlasting peace? So for example, in my current campaign my faction heir has just married another faction's princess. Does this mean they won't attack me (or at least for a very long time)?

Question The Second - Can captains rebel in your own territory? Or do they only rebel in enemy/neutral territory?

Question The Third - The Pope recently died, yet a new one was elected straight away, without me being given the chance to vote. Why was this? That faction has an awful lot of cardinals (about 5!) so would this be the reason?

Even after a couple of years of playing this there's still questions that need to be asked

    Thanks!

1 - It's not a permanent alliance, but, indeed, it lasts longer than a common alliance (obtained by a diplomat).
    2 - Don't know for sure.
    3 - No idea.

Captains rebel anywhere unless they're Ai.

If the 5 cardinal faction got all the required votes before you got a chance, I don't see how your vote would matter. Not sure if that effects whether you vote at all though...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

Questions 1 and 2 were answered so I'll go to number 3.I'm thinking you didn't have cardinals. That happened to me once as Scotland. You know how the scottish cardinal dies really early in the game and since most of Brittain is catholic I couldn't raise the piety of my priests so none of them was elected cardinal. Then the pope died and I couldn't vote,I just got the message that a new pope have been elected.

Yeah, 3 is because you didn't have any cardinals. No cardinals, no vote.

Being given that the first two questions have been answered (the treacherous portuguese, however, betrayed me only after a couple of turns), here is the response for the third one.*
If a cardinal has assured his election, because of either the fact that his faction holds the majority of the cardinal offices or that his allies support him openly, the game doesn't give you the option to vote. Unfortunately, I don't know how does this influence your relation with the new Pope.
Of course, as it has already been mentioned, another reason is that you don't have any cardinal, who provides you the possibility to participate in the papal elections, but I think that you would have noticed that.
*In the final battle, their faction leader was killed by his father's in law bodyguard!

Ah yeah I didn't have a cardinal, that's why, but I would have voted for the faction with 5 cardinals anyway as they're my best ally so doesn't matter anyway Thanks for the answers

Captains (and generals) will rebel anywhere, but especially if they are far from your capital and your king. You can stop it by building forts at the most rebellious locations (there are always some locations were rebellions happen repeatedly) as they won't rebel inside a fort. You need to improve your king's reputation to stop rebellions by your miltary leaders, as well as ensuring that they get paid.
