Default 2 major problems:Crashes and Network Issues

Hello to the Total War Community,
there has been no help when I posted the exact same thread on the Total War Eras Technical Help thread,so I want to try my luck here.
So I've been having 2 problems. Here's the first:
1.I've had a problem since a lot of time ago, and decided to resolve it.
I've been playing Rome and Medieval II:Total War since some months ago. On both games, there comes a crash which totally paralyzes my computer, and I can do nothing about it except forcing my computer to shut down by pressing the shutdown button on the device. This crash is totally random,it can happen anytime, like ANYTIME when I play the game, though it doesn't occur everytime I play any of these games.

2.I tried to play Rome Total War with my brother, over a LAN network. So things are going pretty well for him,he can see my name on the LAN lobby, and can see any game I made...but when he clicks to join, there comes a message which says: "No response from host". Things get worse when I try to join one of his games...His name doesn't even show on the lobby when I enter from my PC.I tried allowing communication for the game on my Antivirus's firewall, but still nothing.

OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3 (same as my brother's)
I have also attached a diagnostics report. Thanks for any help you might provide me.

I have found a solution to the second problem. You need no port forwarding or anything (in fact I've tried port forwarding, but my Thomson TG585v7 will never accept the ports I've opened). You just need to open your firewall and set the IP of the other computer(s) you are playing with as a "trusted zone". Note: If you use a game boosting software, the other user(s) must use the same one too (from my experience).
