The Corinthian helmet went out of fashion around 500-400 BC, that's about 200 years before RSII starts.

yea i have an idea... levy pikemen out of mercenary recruit barracks, and a region specific in its place
    italie/polybian infantry
    africa/towered elephants
    northern asia/capadocian horse archers
    antioch/cataphract elephants
    egypt/?
    the east /syrian archers,palmyra phalanx
    germania/wolf warriors
    steppes/horse archers
dont know if its possible for 2.6-7
if its not i still love this game (rome2 better be a new milestone or i just come back to RS2)
but some cool exotic units is way better than the(crappy) levy pikemen

...on the topic of helmets, did the Basiloiki Peltasti really wear helmets like that ? They look like space cadets. Not criticising tho, I actually love the way they look.

Those Thracian helmets they wear are based on a real example. Who knows exactly what Basilikoi Peltastai wore but they were the idea given to us by our Greek Historian Keravnos.

The "raised Corinthian" helmets are actually Psuedocorinthian helmets and are designed to be worn just like that.....in fact they can't be worn "down"....historical for our timeframe and it's really just a question of getting over it if you feel they look strange. It's just an issue because they challenge people's preconceptions of what Greek units should be wearing based on 300 and RTW vanilla.

The horror of every modder That new movie "Rise of an empire" isn't going to make this any better XD There should be an Osprey online gallery or something like that and each and every thread on this subject should be redirected towards such a database...

At least make Carthaginians them right cause is what they look like Rome 2 and RS2 in here with these raised helmets look very funny and the Thracians had been the soldiers with such helmets even in Roman times ...

I have a couple of suggestions:

I love how the Honest Advisor and the Magistrate essentially inoculate your governors from picking up the corrupt judge. I have a similar idea for 2 new ancillaries to prevent your gov's from picking up the "Drinking Companion" ancillary. The "Stoic Philosopher" for the Greco-Roman factions and the "Wise Elder" ancillary for the Barbarian factions. You could give them +1 influence and that would help the player deal with the rampant alcoholism that comes from developing your trade routes as the Drinking Companion is a side effect of economic growth. In truth, the out of control drinking was more of a feature of the later empire than that of the earlier period. Well, the ability to consume massive amounts of alcohol was a virtue among barb's, IINM. I found that the drinking companion plays hell with governors. I've had to tweak the trigger for him to keep it real.

Two: change the "Pontifex Maximus" from an ancillary to an office related to the Cursus Honorum for the Romans. I would tie it to a trait, such as piety or somesuch that a governor gets from building temples.

But there can be only one (as they say!) You can't have more than one Pontifex Maximus - just like it still is now!

I would expect they would figured it out by now...my only hope is that that spartan is relating to a diferent time than Rome II. The Corinthian style started to disapear during the Pelopoenesian War, in favour of models with better vision and audition, as hoplites started to evolve into more complicated manouvers, and the light infantry and cavalry was increased. Among the models that replaced it, you find the thracian type, the attic, the phrygian and the phylos which is represented on the hoplites of Sparta of RS2, along with the attic on the Promachoi. The helmet you posted on you last figure is thracian. It seems Spartans liked their Phylos.
