Installation Help Please

I am interested in installing and play RS2.5 . I have looked through posts and other content on the internet (youtube videos, mod db, etc.) searching for help with the installation but have been unsuccessful in my attempts.

Some info on what I have tried and where problems occur.

I have Rome TW Gold and Alexandria on Steam.

The method of installation I have tried multiple times to no avail is the following:

1) Clean install of Rome TW Gold and Alexandria- Basically I deleted all local files from the computer, uninstalled, and then reinstalled through steam.
2) Downloaded RS2.5 through Mod DB- site here http://www.moddb.com/mods/roma-surre...a-surrectum-25
3) I created a backup folder of Rome Total War in my C drive. I have tried three ways after this
a) I copied Rome TW Gold first and then pasted Alexandria into that folder, overwriting duplicates
b) I copied Alexandria first and then pasted Rome TW Gold into that folder, overwriting duplicates
c) I copied Alexandria first and then pasted Rome TW Gold into that folder, NOT overwriting duplicates
4) After copying, I ran the installer on RS2.5 and installed the files into the backup folder on the C drive.
5) I changed the properties of the RS2.5 launcher to be run as an administrator
6) I update my username after clicking the steam button on the launcher page
7) I then select my faction and hit play. I get the startup noise after selecting play but nothing happens. The game just hangs and I have to eventually close it through task manager.

If anyone can provide any assistance it would be appreciated. I am about ready to give up playing this mod simply because I cannot get it to run. Thanks!
