What would YOU Like?

So we all know that in order to bring an RPG to life, the first in many steps is to gauge what most people would like to play. I've had thoughts of "Man, I wish someone would make _____ RPG. That would be cool." Often times this doesn't pan out for one reason or another. Let's use this thread as an RPG wish list. What sounds cool to you?

I'm up for anything 3000 BC - 1940 AD in RL terms, for fantasy RPG's I'm up for most of them.

I would like to see an Elder Scrolls RPG, as well as Byzantine and a successful Crusades RPG.

I have my old Elder Scrolls RPG idea which I have been thinking about bringing back. I have always wanted to do a Byzantine Empire rpg (probably during the reign of Alexios I, during the Empire of Nicaea or towards the fall of the Empire by the Ottomons). And there was a small discussion between BF and I about a Crusader RPG either as the Kingdom of Cyprus or the Latin Empire of Constantinople (our old idea). Kingdom of Jerusalem is just too large.

I would prefer to have the elder scrolls one focused on a smaller scale; ie: Iliac Bay, Stormcloak Rebellion, or just adventurers. I'm up for an Alexiad, Latin or Cypriote RPG.

Well for some ideas for Elder Scrolls, it could be during the Second Era after the fall of the Reman Empire and the Akaviri Potentate. We all play in one of the Kingdoms/Warlord Domains of Skyrim or Cyrodiil (Colovian Estates, Solitude, Winterhold, etc etc) or play in the Stormcloak Rebellion. The original idea was during the Great War, but that is still too large even if we play just in Cyrodiil throughout the war. Another idea is the Oblivion Crisis in Cyrodiil.

I have a copy of the rules from my Deus Vult RPG which saves a lot of work for rule making when it comes to a Latin Empire or Cypriote RPG, just a lot of tweaking to do. The same rules could be used for an Alexiad RPG with major tweaking.

Plus, if we do something like the Second Era setting I stated, we would only be one of the warlords, not multiple. We work together to unite the realm of Skyrim or Cyrodiil. Or even High Rock.

and as mentioned in a revival of the Star Trek RPG with a new crew, a new ship and maybe a new timeline, exploring maybe a sector like the Delta quadrant.

A Medieval Rome RPG would be interesting. There are plenty of interesting periods. If anything of the sort were to happen I could help with advice regarding historical accuracy.

So you mean Byzantine.

Yes. I don't like the term Byzantine. It has rather bad associations (No small thanks to Edward Gibbons and early Western historians)

Its still a more common term than Eastern Roman Empire.

Byzantine does not have bad connotations, and that's what matters now.

My current favorite would be a War of Sicilian Vespers RPG; kick out the French and elect a king!

If we did Latin Empire, we should start pre-Constantinople, and develop the campaign.

We've got Catholics, Greeks, and Muslims all in unison with each other; Knights with Norman heritage and skilled Saracen archers.
Also, Sicily was a major learning center for medieval Europe due to the tolerant rule of the Normans and Hohenstaufens, allowing Muslim knowledge into Europe.
