Default Yikes! My general has no name :p

So my latest Roman family member just came of age. And his name is...Spurius. Just "Spurius"

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

He has no second and third names . And no gens either.

Ok, I think I know why...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Spurius' father was the traitorous swine Manius Cornelius Blasio. Despite being the grandson of our former faction leader Cnaeus Cornelius Blasio, Manius decided 13 years ago to abscond to the side of the Epeirotes . And he took with him a stack of 16 units and the large city of 20k people that was Iuvavoaeta!

Can you believe that? The Epeirotes managed to bribe one of my family members, a full stack, and a large city that had been Roman for many years, all with zero money (I checked the financial ranking, their treasury was flatlined at zero). And to add insult to injury, the diplomat that bribed the city had 0 influence.

    That's right, 0 influence .

We punished such unforgivable treachery in true Roman fashion. Manius' own father, Titus Cornelius Blasio, led an army to retake Iuvavoaeta. The city's population was put to the sword; man, woman and child was butchered without mercy. And after Titus slew his own son Manius in single combat, he spat on the corpse and left it to the vultures.

But I digress. When Manius fled to join the barbarians, he left behind his 17 year old wife and a 3 year old son. And now the son has come of age and it seems he has abandoned his family name . And all for the shame of his father. Such a black mark does not belong on the honour of the gens Cornelius Blasio, a proud and noble family who have provided many true Romans. Spurius' grandfather Titus is our current faction heir...but it seems that nothing can persuade Spurius to bear the name of his accursed father .

Anyway, just an amusing anecdote that I thought I'd share. I hope the lack of second and third names doesn't cause any bugs. If Spurius has male children, what will happen to them? Or should I arrange for him to die nobly in combat to avoid any future game-ending problems?

The name that is fallen shall be no more. Let us never speak of him and his offspring again.

Holy **** ... all those years playing RTW and EB and it still can suprise me
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

    Disregard RTW2 - acquire Europa Barbarorum 2.
